Unexpected Mid-Cycle Bleeding!!

Hi ladies...I had a MC in January and finally started my first AF earlier this month. I am 17 days since LMP today. On Thursday, I had a gush of watery CM, which made me think I was reaching my fertile period. On Friday, I noticed some light spotting mixed in with CM. Both days, BFN on OPKs. Yesterday, I started to feel some pressure near my ovaries. When I would sit down, the pressure would get worse. I decided to try an OPK at 3pm, and there was a line, although not quite as dark as the control (not surprised though, as I only test once a day and could have missed my surge). DH and I BD'd on Thursday, Friday, and last night just to be safe. This morning, I woke up and went to use the restroom. I felt some fluid about to come out and thought it might be leftover from BD'ing last night. When I wiped, it was red blood...needless to say, it was concerning. Not as much as AF but more than yesterday. I haven't noticed anymore yet today (fingers crossed), but I was just wondering what others have experienced with ovulation spotting. I still have the pressure near my ovaries, especially when I sit down. Not really pain, just pressure and discomfort. Could the blood be from ovulation? I read that it should be more pink/brown, which it was yesterday, but not today. I just never had this prior to the MC. Thanks!

Hi, Im sorry about your loss. I've noticed the same weird spotting as well. My situation is different though im just getting off depo, got off it in october, had two normal cycles in december, and january and haven't had a thing but random spotting since. Here's what i noticed in january about two weeks before af visited i had light spotting (pink) only when i wiped. my period came about two weeks later. In february a couple days before af was due i also had spotting but this was more consistent not just when i wiped. It lasted for a few hrs and then stopped on its on. About two weeks after af was due the spotting only when i wiped started again it lasted for a few bathroom trips and then nothing. Then this month i had one day of that consistent spotting again (pinkish/brown) but this time there were mini blood clots in it. It again lasted a few days then just went away on its own. And then last night i noticed real blood when i wiped. And when i went to the rest room again it was clear when i wiped with spots of blood (like mini clots) again. Then this morning i nothing. I said all that to say this. Your body may just be trying to regulate itself still. So its probably nothing to be to concerned about.

Thanks! Sorry you are having to deal with this kind of thing as well. Just crazy because my cycles were never this erratic when I went off bcp last September. I was on it for 15 years, and things just jumped right back in gear. This MC however, has changed everything. Ready to just be normal, whatever that is...lol.

Yeah i know how you feel... its stressful to say the least but the best thing to is just try and relax. MC really through your body out of whack kind of like going off the depo did mind. So things will be a little weird for a while but they straighten themselves out. I guess... and if they dont the doctor can give you pills to straighten it out as well.

Hey hun. I'm so sorry about you m/c.

Some women spot at ovulation. If you normally don't and all of a sudden you start having it, you're supposed to go see your OB/Gyn to make sure nothing weird is going on. If you just had a m/c, I would think it could very well be due to hormones getting back to normal. You should probably call your Gyno just to ask if they'd like to see you for it.

Thanks, ladies! I just sent a message to my OB's office just to make sure they aren't concerned. Fortunately, I only saw blood yesterday once, so it seems to be tapering off (I had a little pink this morning), along with my ovulation symptoms. However, best to make sure. I would say this is not normal for me, but, frankly, I am not sure. I have only had two periods since getting off bcp (the one before the cycle I conceived and this one). Since I was on them for 15 years, I can't truly say what is normal for me. We'll see what the doc says...thanks!

The nurse replied and said I should come in. Unfortunately, my OB is booked until 4/20. By that time I will be in mid-cycle again Disappointed because I love my OB, but apparently everyone else does too..lol. Guess an appointment on 4/8 with another doctor will have to do. I will be checking for a BFP before then though, Fingers crossed.

I'm trying to be so patient but I just have to ask if anyone else has experienced this.

I had a d&c on Feb 6th. I started temping right away so I could see when I ovulated and it was 17 days after surgery and all seemed perfectly normal. So we started ttc this current cycle.

All seemed to be going well. I started seeing some fertile mucous on cd10. So I started using OPKs. They were all negative for ages and I actually thought I had ovulated around cd14, which is normal for me. But on cd15 I woke up, stood up, and so much watery cm came out of me that my underwear was soaked. This never happens. It was clear just like water. Every time I stood up, for about 3 hours, more would gush put of me and It started to go reddish/pink. But it all stopped after 3 hours and back to normal. I thought I must have had my first ever ovulation bleed. But then that afternoon on cd15 I got a positive opk! And on cd16 I had a little more fertile cm, not much though. Today is cd17 and I still see no temp shift to indicate ovulation and this has never happened to me at all, and I have charted my cycles for years.

At the beginning of my cycle I was surprised that my temp didn't drop right down to around 36.5 where it normally hovers pre o. My post o Temps are always around 37 degrees.

Does anyone know what is going on? Did I have an ovulation bleed or could something be wrong to cause me to have that bleed?

Wow! Sure does sound very similar. I'm not temping, some I can't confirm o. Did you ever figure out what happened?

If I get a temp shift tomorrow then it might all look ok, but if not, I think I either geared up to ovulate and failed, or I did ovulate but my progesterone levels are low for some reason, preventing the temp rise. I really have no clue, but the gushing watery cm only lasted for about 3 hours on cd15

Ah, gotcha...fx you get your temp shift and everything goes off without a hitch!!! If I didn't ovulate, I'll be surprised. I know I ovulated about 5 weeks after my mc, before my HCG was at zero too! I went in for an u/s when my levels were around 70 and they noticed a cyst on my ovary. My ob said I ovulated and that I could expect my period in about 2 weeks...sure enough, it came like clock work (hcg was down to 11 by then). Seemed like things were moving along just fine...hope it is. Let me know what happens!

Slow temp rise today so probably have ovulated but will be hard to pinpoint when. Bit dubious about this whole cycle so not too confident we caught the egg.

I don't know my hcg levels after my ERPOC. Two days before it my levels were 4000, on the day of they were 3000 and that is the last test I had. But I ovulated only 17 days after the surgery so I thought things had returned to normal

hmmm.....well maybe things are returning back to normal. Even couples with no known issues can take a little while before conceiving. You never know....when do you plan to test? I think I might this weekend since I have a bunch of cheapies to spare...lol

Don't blame you...last time I waited until 3 days passed AF and tested when it didn't arrive. Needless to say, it was a very BFP! Hoping that comes again for both of us soon. Keep me updated on your progress.
