For the last couple of days Jack has become more fussy than usual, crying more & becoming harder to settle. He hasn't gone off his food - he just isn't drinking as much. He is constantly chewing his hands & fingers but hasnt got red cheeks or dribbling so unsure whether this is teething, but yesterday I also noticed that his poo had changed from being a paste like consistency to a hard lump, making me think he is constipated. I am also having trouble getting his wind up, where I could get it straight up before. He hasn't got a temperature & when he isn't crying is his usual happy smiley self - so any ideas? Would it be the constipation making him irritable & if so any tips?
Thanks

Not an expert but I guess when we're constipated we don't feel so great so it definetly could be affecting him, i've heard cooled boiled water helps them, let us know how he gets on!

Thanks for the reply - yeah I can see why he would be uncomfortable so it IS probably that. I had read up on this yesterday & I have given him some water with 1/2 tspn of sugar in it to help - he has had this twice & will give him some more today - I know sugar isn't very good for him, but neither is clogged up insides:hissy:

for constipation my health visitor told me to take one sweet fresh orange and do the ratio of 1 teaspoon of juice to 2oz cooled boiled water (personally i just put 1 teaspoon in her 4oz water bottle)..give it maybe a couple of hours and she soon goes...EVERYWHERE!! so if your going out be prepaired..napy sacks a must :) xxx

(tip** taste the orange first, has to be a sweet one not a sour) x

Possibly slight case of colic if he doesnt settle after he does the toilet?
