I'm day 3 taking 50mg daily (at night as I heard then you miss the worst side effects). I think it's a bit weird that I'm prescribed it as I am ovulating (confirmed by regular periods, previous losses, previous 21 day bloods, ov pain and opks), but sadly nothing seems to stick. I think the fertility specialist just doesn't know what to do - anyone else tried this or heard of it? I'm a bit worried about that hyper ovulating thing?

I was prescribed femara even though I was ovulating. It was to try to get me to release extra eggs, which increases hormone levels and results in a thicker lining. It didn't work for me though. Supposedly works better if combined with IUI, but I've done two of those already with no luck either. Sometimes I wonder if I'll ever get pregnant! I hope it works for you!

Thank you. They haven't mentioned IUI yet but I'm going back after 3 cycles so maybe that's when that'll be discussed.
It'll happen. It will.
My mum genuinely said to be that 'kids aren't all that, I was never fussed about having them' to try and cheer me up the other day! Lol! Thanks mum, love, your first born!

Ya, I did 3 cycles of femara and TI alone before I went on to IUI, so that will probably be what is suggested for you as well! Do you have unexplained infertility?

My mom told me she regretted having children to attempt to make me feel better... sometimes people say stupid things when they don't know what to say (which is often when the topic is infertility lol).

Haha who'd have mothers! Lol!
Kind of unexplained; my bmi is in the over weight category, I have pcos in terms of cysts but normal hormones and am ovulating. They said in March it seems the pcos is gone but I don't know if that can really happen? I think I've got endo as I have all the symptoms but had a normal hsg. We've had three pregnancies in four years, all lost before week 7, two of which were this year. Also possible chemical last cycle but lines were so faint it's doubtful. Hubby has health issues and has to take a fair amount of meds which may or may not be affecting things although his sperm is fine (although he is 42 years old). So it seems like there's lots going on which could be factoring into things.

Ya I often think unexplained is just caused by a bunch of little things where on its own it would be fine!

We have no idea what's wrong. We know on a natural cycle my lining doesn't get very thick. But it thickened fine on medicated cycles and I still didn't get pregnant. I also seem to get a new cyst every cycle (like one corpus luteum cyst), but those apparently happen to lots of women without causing problems. Hormones are all normal, always ovulate, tubes are open. DH had a Fab SA. So I dunno. Maybe we've just been horribly unlucky on our medicated cycles? I also wonder about endo, but I don't have any symptoms.

But it's been 20 months and we have had no pregnancies, so there has to be something.

It's very unfair. They said my tubes weren't blocked but I got pregnant twice after the hsg quite quickly, but just not sticky. It does make me wonder!
It'll happen. And be worth waiting for. I'm normally very very impatient so I'm telling myself this whole process is just preparing me for being a mother and needing endless patience! Learning that some things are out of my control!

That's really weird red! I've heard sometimes tubes can become blocked with debris that gets pushed out by the HSG, maybe something to it for you? Unfortunately for me no pregnancy after the HSG lol.

I was reading that parents who have gone through infertility are generally better parents. More engaged and patient with their child.

I think I've just got to get on with living my life, and hopefully somewhere along the way, treatment will work for me, or I'll get a surprise

Yeah that's all we can do. It's so weird on one hand I just want to know whether it's ever going to happen or not, but then on the other I'm not sure whether having that little bit of hope is better or not!

I'm having pelvic pains and really bad gas today - not sure if that's normal in clomid as there seems to be mostly stuff about ovulation, rather than when you're taking the tablets.

Ya, I know what you mean. That little bit of hope is what keeps you going, and its nice to be optimistic about the future.

Are you taking the tablets right now? With femara I had SE while taking the tablets, and then SE from the higher levels of hormones after I was done the tablets. I definitely felt pretty crazy at times.

I'm fertile right now. Wouldn't be surprised if today or tomorrow was O day, and we haven't BD'd once, and don't plan to. I've never really taken a break. My break cycles we still ended up BDing when I knew I was fertile haha. But I really and truly do just need a month off!

Hi from my understanding of when we had Clomid it can make you ovulate or increase number of eggs or increase quality of eggs depending on the days you take it. I took it cd2-6 and I believe it was for a combo of ovulating and increasing numbers. Good luck.

What's SE? I've been fairly emotional today (day of 4th dose).
Nessaw did clomid work for you?

Se is side effects I think. It didn't work in getting pg but what it did was regulate my cycles. Before it they varied in length between 22-36 days and I could never pinpoint ovulation. On it and after I had 26 day cycles with ov on cd12. So that then did lead to me becoming pg and eventually my rainbow.x

That's interesting nessaw that it regulated your cycles. I was on femara for 5 cycles, it gave me cysts for each cycle I was monitored for, and now I got a larger cyst on a natural cycle :/

Had the scan today - the doctor was really pleased said I had mature follicles on both ovaries (one in each) and has told us to start dtd from Thursday every other day for a week and a half to be on the safe side. I don't know whether having one only on each side is good or bad? I'm just really hoping this works! Fingers crossed please :) x

I'd say its a good sign! No matter which way those swimmers go there will be an egg waiting for them :) Good luck!

I'm like 99% sure I didn't ovulate this cycle. I'm on CD 18 and have had spotting for the last 6 days. I'm having some major cramping today so I wouldn't be surprised if AF showed. I think that cyst must have messed up my hormones this cycle.

I hope so. I guess it doubles our chances but I think I was hoping for more with the clomid! I suppose this is only round one though so I should be grateful it's done anything so far!
Sorry you haven't ovulated this month, although I suppose if that has to happen it's good it was in a month you were having a break. Do they know why you're developing cysts?

2 eggs is a pretty good response!

While taking femara or clomid there is an increased risk of cysts forming. So I had assumed it was from that. But then I got this large cyst on a natural cycle, so now I dunno! Might just be bad luck? It's pretty common to form corpus luteum cysts that stick around.
