I went for my first doctor's appt last Wed. where my doctor did everything. She did a pap, took swabs, urine sample, lots of blood work, and had me get two different ultrasounds (one being an internal). Everything seemed good so far. I've had some light cramps at various times of the day, lots of potty breaks, backaches here and there, with a little bit of nausea. I've been eating healthier and drinking tons of water. No coffee and no soda (thats a killer).

So last night I went to the bathroom and saw a very small amount of blood on a toilet paper. I didn't panic and decided to wear a panty liner. When I went to the bathroom again I saw very very light pink spots (really small amt.). I changed the panty liner again. Just before we went to bed I had another potty break. This time it was a little more red but just one small spot. I got very nervous because I don't want to lose this baby. I told my OH and kept my head very level. All night long I was up going to the bathroom (too much water) but no blood was on the panty liner. The same thing this morning no blood at all. First thing I did was call my doctor's office. My doctor would not be back until tomorrow but I knew it was important to tell them.

When I talked to the nurse she said all of my test results from last week came out normal including the ultrasounds. She told me that I would have to wait til tomorrow as my doctor will more then likely want me to come in. She told me that I will probably need another ultrasound and another blood test to check something else. I was told to keep watching for blood and amount as it could lead to a miscarriage.

I've been monitoring but not a drop of blood since last night. So I'm not panicking I am staying positive about everything especially because of everything coming up normal on all the test results.

I guess I just need to let this out because I have until tomorrow to see what happens. I know this can be normal but its still scary. I am keeping everything positive and telling myself that the baby will be ok. Sorry this is so long I just don't have anyone to really talk too. The worst part of this is that my OH has been through a miscarriage with his ex so we didn't tell anyone about the pregnancy because that was his fear. [-o<

It sounds like you are doing all of the right things, including talking it out. You have done your research and all and there isn't more than can be done right now. I didn't have early bleeding but I did have some random bleeding from 19 weeks to around 25 weeks. Hang in there and keep your cool.

Thanks ciarhwyfar for the words. My OH just called me and told me that everything will be ok. He reminded me that if a miscarriage happens its because there is something wrong with the baby and its my bodies way of letting me know. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that no more blood comes. So far so good. We so want this baby and it would be sad to see something like a miscarriage to happen.

Hope you are ok. I know how scary it is as I've had tons of spotting and bleeding all pregnancy. Definitely get it checked out, but for now just remind yourself that spotting can be very common in pregnancy and many times it is absolutely harmless. Good luck tomorrow!!

Thank you StranjeGirl. I am staying positive as well as my OH. No more spotting since last night so hopefully it stays that way. I will keep you posted tomorrow.

I had some pink cm at 6w, the next morning when I checked it had become red spotting. I had an U/S that day and it showed a beautiful little blob with a heartbeat. The red spotting went back to pink cm then nothing. Have had two scans since then and all is ok. I know how scary spotting can be. The sonographer told me one in two women have some kind of bleeding early in pregnancy. How far along are you?

Will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. xx

Hi Mellybelle I will be 6 weeks tomorrow. I've been checking and haven't seen anymore spotting. I've also had some mild cramping and my back was killing me on and off. The back pain is pretty normal for me. Two major car accidents ruined my back. Thank you so much for the information. I had been doing a lot of reading and saw where this can be normal for some women. Its still not something you want to see.

I think the only thing that has kept me sane (besides no more spotting) was the phone conversation with my doctor's nurse. Just knowing everything all the test results were normal and the ultrasounds were great put me in a better place. Now waiting patiently for my doctor's office to call so I know when to come in. I will keep you all updated. Wish me luck!!

Very sorry to crash- don't know how I ended up in your thread but in a nurse and cannot tell you how common it is to have light bleeding after a pap or ultrasound! Your increased blood flow makes everything a lot more sensitive down there. A pap scrapes tissue for examination purposes and this will cause a small bleed most of the time it's not noticeable. You're fine hun! And an internal u/s too?? Goodness no wonder you bled a little :) best of luck

Just spoke to my doctor's office. They are having me come in to get more blood test and do another OB ultrasound (external and internal). They are still trying to pin point how far along I am. They were happy the spotting stopped and didn't come back. My doctor wants to check my hormone levels to make sure they are where they need to be if not then I guess I go on meds to build them up. My mom is going with me today to get me through my blood work and ultrasounds. I wish my OH could go but he has a dentist appt today so he will miss it again.

I had spotting and quite a bit at that at 6 weeks - I went for an early internal scan and they found twins! early spotting is very very common in multiple pregnancies too as there are two babies inplanting

TWINS!!! OMG I think I would've passed out! lol My last ultrasound only showed one black blob. I'm hoping just to see something maybe even hear something like a heartbeat. I don't know if that is too soon. This time around I am going to ask for a copy of the pictures to give my OH. I am just glad everyone is so on top of everything.

I got my blood work drawn and had another ultrasound. My mom was with me and we got to see the next stage of a baby. It was exciting to see the heart beating. We even got to hear it. He thought it was my heart at first because he told me it was low. Then he realized it was the baby heart 105 beats. It was so cool to see and hear. I asked for a picture to give to my OH and the guy was a prankster because he wanted to photo shop twins in to see how he would react. hahaha. My OH was excited to hear the news. He finally got to see a picture and said how cool it was. We will be happy to get thru each week and trimester.

It is great news Mellybelle. We still can't believe it. The guy who did the ultrasounds said that the baby's heart will beat faster as it grows. I look forward to the next ultrasound. My OH still is worried but its understandable. Keeping or prayers that everything goes great with this little one.

Once you can see that baby has a heartbeat your chance of mc lowers considerably. Most babies are lost before 6 weeks, so the 6w mark is quite a milestone. I think your little one is going to be just fine!:flower:
