Okay so at my last doctors appointment, he told me that I needed to start taking protein supplements because I've only gained 16 pounds. (seems like a lot to me) Well that was four weeks ago and my next appointment is Friday, I haven't gained a pound this entire month!! Does any one have any suggestions on protein supplements that are safe for me and baby?

Also, I have my gestational diabetes test on friday where they'll give me that nasty juice stuff. I'm kind of nervous even though I'm sure I don't have it.

Another thing, I've been really nauseas lately. The first trimester was awful, but then in the second i was completely fine and in the third trimester it started picking back up again. Do y'all thing this is because of the pregnancy? I'm scared I might have a stomach bug or something. I threw up all of my delicious feast of food on thanksgiving :/
 
hon, hormones do all sort of stuff to you and the fact that u threw up might also come form teh fact that ur little bean is now pressing on your stomach so u have less space in there. eating smaller meals more often would be better.

regarding proteins, i'd rather do dietary changes than adding any supplements. beans, chick peas, green peas, quinoa, nuts (and nut butters included!), lentils, bananas, tofu just to add some, besides standard meat and eggs stuff that are harder to digest....
 
I agree with pp! If you could change the food in your diet instead of taking extra supplements it would probably be better. But if you aren't able to do that, I'm sure your doctor can advise you what supplements you can take and can probably even prescribe you some.

The glucose test wasn't that bad for me. The orange tasted just like orange soda without the bubbles. I did throw up afterwards but I passed so I wasn't worried!
