Which formula do you use now? I used the similac sensitive for fussy, spit-up, and gassy babies. And it was recalled. So, suggestions. :flower:

I wasn't using Similac, but I've been using the Target Up & Up formula. They have a few different styles, so one may be similar to what you're using.

I am in Canada and believe the Similac here is made in Montreal, i havent stopped using it.

Ours was recalled cause of bugs. And last I checked still wasn't back on shelfs.

I use Nestle Gerber Goodstart. They have 3 different kinds.
They have the the grren can, which is Protect Plus.
-It has probiotics found in breastmilk to protect and strengthen their immune systems. (This is the the kind I use)
They have Gentle Plus
-Which is easy on their belly for issues like your LO is having.
And then they have Soy Plus for babies with reg. formula allergies.

The plus in each brand is the extra step they take to break down the formula to make it extra easy for baby to digest.

Haha. Now I sound like a salesperson. lol.

Also don't know if you get W.I.C., but they give you 10 cans a month of formula for free of your pick of gerber formulas. (About $75 dollars worth)

Do they come in a big container?

Nope no WIC anymore wish we did though. Cause although my husband makes a fair amount of money the bills we have ugh annoying.

Yes they have a normal 12 oz can then they have long cylinder cans and then they have big 24 oz cans. One big can is $30 normal cans are $15. Not too sure how much long cylinder cans are though...

We still get W.I.C its been a huge help with buying formula. But they're so damn picky on what they cover an don't sometimes its not even worth it.

Yeah, it'd still help a little though at least. Cause befor the recall we'd get the big container of similic and it's not back on shelves yet so we're having to get like the smallest one thats why i'm looking for something along the same lines but that i can buy in bulk. saves money when you'r having to spend 15 ever 3 days for a new can.. my baby is an oinker. lol.

We use nestle good start as well. It's compared to similac up here all the time. He loves it and takes it easily. We use the concentrate cans though not the powder yet. He doesnt like it and didn't take it well when we tried. He's a month old today.

Plus its a thinner formula not one of those that are all foamy and hard to shake and blend with water. The ready made is too stinky. lol. And I don't like the color of it lol.

Alwayspraying- Do you use the gentle, protect, or soy good start?

They're taking a LONG time to get it back on the shelves, I'm pretty disappointed in Similac to be honest.

We have been using the concentrate (we use Advance) and apparently the RTF is down to $3/$4 in Target... I'm considering switching entirely at the moment because we just burned through every one of our formula checks getting RTF & Concentrate...I was supportive of them in the beginning (lots of Mamas getting angry and saying they'd never use Similac again because of the recall =/ - Any formula could have been effected, it just happened to be Similac this time!) but they're taking so long to sort the situation out, that I've lost quite a lot of respect for the company!!

Someone suggested Enfamil Gentlease as an alternative.

I use Similac Sensitive and the ones I have I checked on their website weren't in the recall...

Yeah, I'm about to switch also cause I can't be spending so much money on these small cans of formula. I think we're spending twice as much now. It;s annoying.

we use the one with omega 3 and the regular one. the omega 3 is really expensive so thats why we go half half.

We switched finally - we went to Target & their shelves were bare. We couldn't keep spending on formula (plus we don't like RTF anymore) every day, so we decided to try the Target own brand, Up & Up equivalent and DD doesn't seem to have had any troubles with the switch!! :yipee:

So grateful for that because we had a heck of a time with both the Similac Sensitive (constipation) and then the Advance (she had painful gas for a long time)...

We got a HUGE tub of the powdered stuff for $18! :)

Hum, I'll look to see if they have it here at the target in my area. thats only 4 dollars more then the small container of similac

I TOTALLY agree with all the ladies about the Target brand!! Its a lot cheaper and it mixes better (less bubbles!). Best decision we have ever made! I have also heard the Walmart brand is really good too!

Well we switched to target and love the price! lol. And so far so good.

I shouldn't have given away my secret about Target formula ;) Now the 40oz canisters are always sold out and I keep getting the last of the smaller sizes on the shelf.
Glad to hear its working well for you all and saving your pocketbooks too.
