Hi ladies,

i have developed some enourmous varicouse veins in my vulva at week 26 and I am wondering whether this will impede my vaginal birth. I have had two unmedicated natural births, but I never had this issue before. My main concern is popping one of the veins. Surely that would lead to a big blood loss and possible transfer to a hospital...

Any advice???

There's no reason it should be an issue. I suffered with them myself with my second and third babes and had straightforward vsgnial deliveries and didn't need to transfer :)

Wear nice supportive knickers with good gussets! (how attractive! ) Also avoiding coached or forced pushing. Tbh it should be avoided for everyone but learning some good techniques to gently breathe your baby out will help lesson pressure . Labouring in water would probably be helpful too :)

nice to see i am not the only one. I never exp this before now with twins they are coming and going but when they appear its terrible i am investing in the icepack pads to help with swelling.
