I'm pretty sure I have a nipple vasospasm. Feeding isn't painful but afterwards my nipple is white and I have agonising burning pains in my breast. It also happens if I get cold. The pain is awful. I thought it was thrush at first but I've been treated for that and it hasn't helped. I don't think the vasospasm is down to bad latch as it doesn't hurt when he latches, and it also happens when I pump or feed using a shield. Is there anything I can do to stop it happening?

I think I have this too! Feeding doesn't hurt so i think latch is ok and it's always between feeds that I have burning pain. The nipple pain seems to be worst after a shower. I'd love to know how to prevent this too!

This article is quite informative :

I had issues with this for 9 weeks with my DS. 2 lactation consultants treated us for thrush without help. I found out about it all on my own thru research, go figure. Finally talked to my midwife and we figured out it was due to his latch. It took about a week to get his latch right and it went away. I was certain his latch was fine, considering multiple people told me it was fine at the time.
