Would love to hear of any stories of successful VBA2C. I´ve had two sections and probably will have elective but am keeping a fairly open mind.

I am wondering the same thing. I had 2 c-sections, 1 emergency and 1 planned. Last one was 9 years ago. I am now wondering if I should push for VBA2C or just plan another c-section. I have never been awake for my c-sections. I am afraid this Dr will make stay awake... and I am terrified!

I am going to try for a vba2c this time. My son needed to be born prem so csec then they panicked about my daughters size so another c section. I'm stronger this time and know that my babies are naturally small. There was no need formy second c section apart from they deemed her small. This time if pregnancy goes to plan I will havea natural unless too far over then another section . The hospital policy insists on section if had 3 or more previous so they haven't said much about it

This is my 7th baby. I had normal deliveries with my first two, an emergency c section due to my baby developing fetal distress during induction, two more normal deliveries then another section due to baby turning into a transverse position and presenting arm first!!!
My consultant has said that there is not much of a greater risk of uterine rupture with this vbac than my first so I can try if that is what I want. All that is theoretical though as I normally develop GD so we have to see how that goes but so far so good x

My hospital will support me to have VBA2C, but I´m only considering this if I go into labour naturally before 40 weeks and the baby isn´t measuring big. These are my own personal considerations and not based on any particular recommendations or data. It´s just how I feel about it.

I found this article which reviews all of the recent clinical data studies on VBA2C vs VBAC vs repeat (3rd CS).

https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/store...b&s=791855f0d5

The uterine rupture rates for VBA2C were 1.36% and the total successful VBA2C studied were 4064 (success rate 71.1%). The uterine rupture rates for VBAC were 0.72%.

The hysterectomy rates for VBA2C and 3rd section were 0.5%, no difference. The hysterectomy rate for VBAC was 0.19%.

I´m taking all this into consideration and they are going to look at my notes from the last operation to see the level of scar tissue etc.

Following this I am a VBA2C hopeful also!! First consultant appointment on Friday xx

My chances of v2bac have gone out the window. I was illa few weeks ago. Fever and severely dehydrated ..now baby had very little fluid. should be between 2 and 8 and should have pockets in ask segments. Mine is 1.4 and only one pocket of it. No wonder his movements hurt. So I have to have section. Even if hadn't previously had one I would have had to as there is so little fluid....makes me feel a little better . Gutted I will never feel a contraction or have labour. But I know my baby is in serious risk the fact he isn't quite term and they want him out Monday. It was a lovely dream but I just have to think I'll have three perfect children who cares boys they made their debut into the world

Oh, you're so lucky that you're hospital will let you VBA2C. I wish I could. :( My hospital will allow me if I'm in full blown labor when I arrive but otherwise not a chance.

I had an appointment with the top consultant at the hospital and he is very supportive of my VBA2C. He says it is very unusual but that there is nothing in the literature to say that the risks are significantly worse than having a third CS so has written it into my hospital notes as part of my birth plan.

I´m still having ECS booked in for my due date (2nd October) and he says I can change my mind at any time. I´m happy to labour naturally if I go into labour spontaneously before my due date though.

Sorry to hear ladies that you weren´t able to do that for your reasons.
