I had an emergency C-Section with my son in Dec 2011 and am due again July 1st 2013 so 18 months apart.

There were some complications with my son at his birth so now I do not know what to do with the next labour. They have said it is my choice as to which I go for....

Havent been advised yet one way or the other I am guessing its as I am only 21 weeks at the moment.

Havent been to any VBAC info sessions so any advice be much appreciated....

cant offer advice as im yet to have another baby but as im hoping to have my next LO with a simialr gap in monthd as you im probaly going to have a csection... my MW advised this after I had LO... but I had various complications...

Do what your gut tells you... no pun intended....

I think it's down to personal preference as you never know what's going to happen. You could have an elective but everything for a vaginal would have been perfect but then you could go for a vbac and need another section!

I personally am opting for an elective due to a non progressive labour and having a big baby. I got told I wouldn't be given a growth scan with the next one as its not "the norm" and I don't want to risk baby being bigger (this one was 10lb 1oz and back to back) and having the same issues.

If they'd give me a growth scan maybe I'd reconsider a vbac

I opted for a vbac and was glad that i did. I didn't recover well from my emcs so i wanted to avoid another section. The doctors were happy to let me decide what i wanted.
My Vbac went really well.

The only thing you have to watch out for it you did opt for a vbac is going overdue. I was 2weeks over with my first and ended up going 1 week over with my second. I was scheduled to be induced the day after i actually ended up having DD. They advised me that if they had to induce they would only be able to give me the drugs a limited amount of times before having to give my a section, due to complications etc. So if you do opt for a vbac then you have to know that if you need to be induced that there is a much higher chance in it ending in a section.

I can't give any advice, because I haven't had another baby after my c-section, but I think I would opt for a VBAC, unless I felt my next was huge. My first was an assisted delivery (forceps) because he got stuck- he was 8lb 14oz with a 14.25in head, my second was a scheduled c-section due to breech presentation, but was even bigger at 9lb 6oz with a 15in head. IF I have another and he/she isn't as big I would really try for a VBAC.

I had a rubbish time with my 1st birth ended up with a emcs and serious complications afterwards, then fell with my daughter (18 month age gap) I opted for a vbac because I was slightly scared of having another csection, ended up going a week overdue and they wouldn't induce me so had a elcs and it was brilliant, just make sure you are happy and comfortable with the choice you make as you're the one going through it!

I had an emcs with my 1st due to ftp, though i got to 9cms, after 5 days of on/off contractions, and elcs with my 2nd, mainly for the fear of having to have a repeat emcs, and deeply regret it :( I was giving my section a week early and he was very much engaged and a healthy 8lb 7. So gutted I chickened out at 32 weeks and booked the section :( Currently looking into a vba2c for baby no.3 who we are currently ttc. Good luck with whatever you decide....x

Forgot to say on Facebook you should join the 'VBAC support group'. So much information on there and many successful vbac stories. Very inspiring :)

I'm at 35 weeks and attempting a vbac +2 for my third.... I can't think of anything worse than having to recover from another c-section. So fingers crossed.
