Very dark green poo + infant gaviscon?

We started Lydia on infant gaviscon for her reflux. It has worked WONDERS! She happily has her bottles and is maybe sick a very small amount once a day.
My only concern is her poo is a VERY dark green (almost black looking) it's also of a paste consistancy. Is this normal? She isn't constipated and goes quite happily once or twice a day (the other day was 3 times). She isn't in any discomfort.

Just wondering if this is normal or if I should be worried and take her off it?

Grace has just been put on exactly the same thing last Friday for reflux and her poo appears exactly the same as you have described. She too goes happily three or four times a day and isn't constipated. Changed her milk at the same time so could be a combination of the two for us. Not worried about it as she is doing really well now. Hope this helps. x

we've been on gaviscon for just over 2 weeks and have EXACTLY the same thing!

I wouldn't worry about the colour - it's normal with a change in LO's milk, and the chances are it will settle down in time. Keep an eye on the texture and regularity, and of course any signs of pain. Gaviscon is known to increase the chances of constipation, so you just need to stay aware!

If you think she's starting to have problems at any point, 1-2oz of cool boiled water per day should ease it, and if that doesn't help see your doctor.

Well my 2 are on aptamil comfort and have this exact thing, the colour and consistency the same as your little one. Aptamil comfort is thicker than regular aptamail, and gaviscon obvisouly thickens up normal milk. Maybe its because they are having thicker milk? It also smells SO bad!! But they arent constipated and seem fine, apart from my girl being very windy (but im changing my bottles so am hoping this will get better) xx
