Hi
I am hoping that some of you ladies might be able to offer some reassurance or just experience of late pregnancy / birth with large fibroids.
I am under consultant lead care because I have very large fibroids - there are three that they have noted in particular - two being around 15x15x4cm each and the third about 7x5x2cm. This was at the last scan at 24 weeks so I expect they have grown some more since!
They have said that I am more likely to hemorrhage after delivery as my womb won't contract as quickly as normal. Luckily they are positioned fairly high up on my womb so shouldn't get in the way of delivery.
At the moment they are just uncomfy as they have made me much bigger than my 28 weeks and one sticks under my rib cage making it hard to get comfy when sitting - particuarly driving. I have also noticed now that I am getting Braxton Hicks that only the side of my bump that doesn't have the fibroids goes really hard during a BH and I have a very one sided lump stick out when they happen. This worries me slightly for the birthing process if my whole womb isn't able to contract.
Anyway - sorry for the long post - and I will obviosulsy chat it through with my consultant - but was just keen to see if any of you have any experience of similar! Thanks so much. x
