Very worried mummy any one have any experience

Hi all,

I was changing my little girl just before leaving to fly to America on holiday a few weeks back and noticed she has a large area of pigmentation on half of her stomach/side below her ribs. It's vv light brown and doesn't appeared to have changed since I noticed it. I've googled and am frankly terrified it's related to an underlying issue ���� she already had a small cafe au lait mark that never worried me as my son has a v similar one in a similar place but with this huge patch appearing in so scared what it means.

I have a phone appotment with the doctor at our surgery who specialises in skin and babies she's so popular it's the best and soonest I could get xx

Was she out in the sun before it appeared? Perhaps it's a very light birthmark that darkened with sun exposure? I hope you get reassuring answers soon!!

It did appear after some hot days in the garden,
Could be just coincidence though as I don't take her too off although it rides up a lot over that area when carrying her. Thanks for the reply xx

Thomas got this as a baby and it's still there, no idea what it is though.

Was his a big area? My main concern was the size of it.. The mark itself is very faint not something that would stand out straight away. I took her to the doctor who is a dermatologist and does all baby well checks she said she was not concerned at all. She knew the genetic conditions Google had told me about and said I shouldn't worry. will just keep and eye on it and her skin
In general, doc definitely wasn't shocked by it so obviously can't be that rare xx

Yup, it covers about half of his torso. It's hard to see but it seemed to show up all of a sudden and it has remained the same size proportionally. It showed up when he was about 10 weeks old I think and now he's over 5.5 years old. It used to be darker than the rest of him, now its lighter which is the odd part!

Wow strange.. Hoping hers doesn't get darker/bigger! At least it's somewhere no one will see unless she wears a bikini! X
