Visiting Infertility Specialist!

Hello ladies So last week I had a obgyn appointment to meet and talk about TTC. My Dr. referred me to a infertility specialist, who I will be seeing this Thursday to go over a few things about trying to conceive! Has anyone ever had to meet with a specialist? Can you tell me what to expect! Also, pros and cons about clomid! I was told I may be getting put on it. TIA

Hello! you can expect a get to know you kind of meeting. They will ask your lifestyle, and your so's lifestyle. Follow by blood work for each of you, possibly a pelvic exam for you and a sa for him. I was never on clomid, but letrozole l. Which is the generic of femera. It's not bad, I did get hot flashes from it, but that's the worst symptom I got. My dh was on clomid for 6 months to help increase his sperm count. He had some irritability on it, but he had large doses in his system from taking it every day for so long. GL! And try not to be nervous, it's not as stressful as you think! And be sure that you are comfortable with your dr and the staff, because you will be doing a lot of communicating with everyone!

glad you're getting good care and got a referall! I have my first ttc/problematic period appt at the end of this month and am stressing over it..

I agree with pp, make sure you like them! if not, shop around a little for one. Communication is key and babymaking is not something anyone would want to work on with someone they don't like - and I'm not talking about DH lmao

Hello My appointment went GREAT! I love my Dr. She was so nice and explained everything that would be happening! I just finished a 10 day Provera to start my cycle then I go back when it's on to check for ovulation. A week or 2 later I go back to get my fallopian tubes checked to make sure they are open!
