I read that there was a study done that showed that 93% of women with ovulation problems have a vitamin d deficiency and that lack of vitamin c can actually cause pcos! I can't believe i never knew about this! i will be asking to be tested. And i started taking 1000 iu of d3. Seriously Google it!

My doc told me that I needed to take vitamin d3, so I take 1000 mg/day along with my prenatals. She didn't say anything about the vitamin c, but I think I am going to start eating more grapefruit to help with my cm. We'll see if it helps!

I said something to my RE and she tested me for it! I get the results back this next week probably on the third when I go in for an U/S to check on clomid progress and more blood tests.

wow that is really interesting - funny enough I just order some vit d  but will def get some vit c tabs to give me a boost.

I just noticed in my first post I said lack of vitamin c can cause pcos, I ment vitamin D.

sorry

My endo tested for that as well as for B12 and found I was lacking in both. I'm actually REALLY low on vitamin d3, so she has me on 10,000IU's of it a day!!

I got my results back today! my d level was 15 they want it to be between 30and 100 so it was pretty low. I am now on 2000 iu a day for 4 weeks then they will retest.

that's interesting how did you get the test? what did you request?

Can you take vit d3 right through your cycle?

I am pretty sure you can. but if your worried you can start drinking fortified juice and milk along with getting as much sun as possible. She has me on it for four weeks and didn't tell us to stop trying in fact she gave me femera AFTER clomid this cycle still trying to induce o

I mentioned reading that deficiency can cause ovulation problems and that I never get sun so I am probably low can you test my vitamin d levels. And she did. After I got my results back she told me that they don't normally test for it. so you probably won't get it unless you ask for it

Haha! I live in Scotland so not much sun here! That's why I'm thinking a supplement mightn't be a bad idea.

Thanks chick! x
