Hi all, just a quick question, has anyone here who is or was LTTTC been diagnosed with a vitamin D deficiency, taken the supplements and then gone on to have a successful pregnancy? I've just found out I have a vitamin D deficiency and I'm wondering if it the cause of the chemical pregnancies I've had and my miscarriage at 6 weeks last year.

After 7 years TTCing I'm hoping this is the final piece of the jigsaw that when sorted and the levels are back to normal, leads to a successful pregnancy.

Thanks in advance for responses.

I was diagnosed as Vitamin D deficient in November and started taking 4000IU daily at that time. Apparently normal is considered 30-100 ng/mL, but over 50 is considered best for fertility/pregnancy. Mine was up to 41ng/mL in February so I'll continue t take 4000IU daily for a few more months and then drop it down some. I've never been pregnant (no chemicals, no miscarriages, never seen a BFP), but this likely has very little if anything to do with Vitamin D deficiency for me (I have other issues that are not related to vitamin D-Vitman D has been proven to impact both male and female fertility). I hope that getting my vitamin D levels up to where they should be will help my fertility but it is unlikely.

Hi Carebear- just wondering if you've had any luck since treating your vitamin D deficiency. DH and I have been trying for about 2 1/2 years, no BFP. I've heard that it can result in implantation defects, and since everything else seems to be going fine, I'm wondering if this could be it.

Fingers crossed for a BFP in your near future :)

Hi xanzaba no luck as yet but we've not been properly trying until I completed the course of treatment as I am aware of the impact of a vitamin d deficiency on a developing foetus. Plus I had exams and other stuff going on. We're going to be back ttcing with a vengeance this cycle so I will let you know! Good luck to you too.

Hi, I wasn't diagnosed as vit d deficient but don't get a lot of sunshine here in winter months so last autum I started taking the zita west vit D oral spray -- and got a bfp in Jan :)

No idea if the vit D helped or not.

All the best x

Can't say for sure that it was the vitamin D, but started taking supplements this month and got a BFP after 2 1/2 years trying :)
