I was sifting thru threads, and I see bits of info here and there but am having a difficult time finding what i want... so I'm starting a new thread.

What vitamins and dosage worked for you dh with a low count.

dh had an SA, was low, and did a month of clomid, did another SA, was even lower. Dr said to see a urologist. We just proceeded with IUI instead.

We were successful but we'd rather not go thru that expense if not needed afterall for another.

I saw a post and can't find it, I should have written it down-about someones going up 800%!

Help!
THanks much!

Hi hun,
Well im getting my OH on vits due to having a low sperm count, I have been told ZINC, L-arginine and MACA will all help. He hasnt been taking them for long so I have no idea if they are doing the trick yet but fingers crossed!
There will be lots of ladies on here who will tell you what worked for them.
What have you tried so far?

Me again,

If you look at the thread 'any one tried meca' there is a lady on there that said her OH had taken it and went from 14 million to 125 million in a month!
Hope that helps!

Hun

My DH took Wellman and he went from below average to excellent.
Hope it helps

Thanks ladies.

I mis-wrote before. We saw a urologist in town, who gave him the clomid.. when after a month that didn't increase it, he wanted us to see a fancy urologist, specializing in male factor. However, he was a 3 hour drive away. So that's why we did the IUI.

We hadn't tried anything, other than 8K in IUIs for my twins.
Must have just gotten lucky for the two for one.

I started him on zinc about a week ago.
I read somewhere about it working only with folic acid and then I read something about lypocene (is that right? the stuff in tomatoes)

I thought instead of reading stuff that anyone could put out there. I'd goto the source, being others who've been there.

Dilek-how quickly did that take affect?
Is that like a fancy multivitamin? I looked it up but wasn't sure.
Being I"m in the US I don't think this would be here-I see I can order it (I think)

That also confused me, I thought it took 3 months to produce sperm, so how could results be seen so quickly. Even for our own dr who did another analysis after only a month. Though I just read a study that says it finds it may take as little as 42 days versus the 60-70 originally thought. It ended by saying a range of 42-76 days for their study group.

Thanks again ladies! Keep it coming.

I'm off to buy some l-arginine.

Thanks, that's the one I remembered but didn't remember!

That stuff is crazy expensive!

Oh, and I had an HSG before the IUIs.
We'd been ttc/not preventing for 9 years almost to the day ( we got married 9 years earlier, the following day-so we'd been not preventing for all but 3 months of that time when I was on bcp). We were married young though, at 16 & 19-so we werent' in too big a rush..

My Dr had said he wouldn't refer me until dh was checked. He went and got the results. I think 4mill it was. Did the drs for him, then me hsg, and iuis.
then J&E came.

Hey i agree with the others my dh SA was just below average count, poor motility and morphology. Looked at loads of studies online and dh has been taking zinc, l-arginine and pycnogenol. Fertility consultant said he wasn't hugely concerned with dh results but we decided to continue with tabs anyway. Hoping it works
