Hello!

So I have long and irregular cycles. They're usually anywhere between 37-53 days. I would say I'm 99.9% sure I ovulate, as I get positive OPK's and then get my period afterwards two weeks on the dot. I hate the waiting until I ovulate. Usually, everyone else on these threads is already testing and I'm still waiting to even release an egg:dohh: I would like to consider taking a supplement to regulate my cycles. I'm scared about this, because I've heard both Vitex and Soy Isoflavones can screw up your cycle even worse than it was before in some people. Any personal experience or suggestions? Thanks in advance!!

I have long and irregular cycles too. And ovulate on my own as well (confirmed by temping bbt). I have been trying to conceive #1 for 10 months so far without success :/

Vitex works for a lot of people, but I tried it a few months ago and it really messed up my cycles. It didn't make them any shorter for me and it made my period super light one cycle (brown discharge only) and another lasted just 1.5 days instead of 5. So I think it may have thinned my lining as I normally have a regular 5 day period with normal heavy to regular to light flow. Vitex also gave me an insatiable appetite and I gained weight on it. It also gave me exaggerated breast symptoms during the TWW - breasts super enlarged and burning areolas/nipples.

I am going to try soy isoflavones this cycle starting tomorrow (cd 3-7). And will see how that goes. I really hope it can make me ovulate earlier (last cycle I didn't ovulate till cd 41). I came across this thread here and it is amazing how so many people got BFPs on their 1st or 2nd cycles with soy after trying for many months. https://community.babycentre.co.uk/...h_soy_isoflavones.?cpg=1&csi=2092795863&pd=-9

And stats collected by from thread: https://community.babycentre.co.uk/post/a13776455/bfp_stats_updated (super encouraging!)

Hi, I've just got my bfp with vitex. I was on a 90 day cycle (breastfeeding my first still), and 3 days of vitex and I ovulated! That was 2 weeks ago! Good luck! X

You likely ovulated and got your BFP on your own. Give yourself some credit! :) Vitex takes more than 3 days to work. It is a very slow acting herb. It is supposed to take about 3 cycles of taking it for your body to adjust and see benefits from it.

Well thanks ladies for all your replies, but I guess I was getting a little ahead of myself for next cycle. I just got my BFP today, lol. Ovulated on CD 34.
