Hello everyone! I posted this on the TTC #1 thread, but no replies, so lets try over here.
It's been a while since I've been on here and i'm really nervous. I went off my BC about 9 months ago, had my withdrawal bleed and 1 month later another one i'm guessing since i was coming off. Well I haven't had my period since. So I went to my doctor on Wednesday for a check up and I just told him flat out I want children and I've been off my BC since 2011 and nothing. No period on my own. So instead of thinking he was going to tell me everything wrong about me, since i am a bit over weight, but trying to lose weight - he said lets get a blood test going and see whats up. He said if everything seemed normal he was going to put me on something to help me get my own period? I forgot what it was called, but if the results come back with something different - off to a ob gyn. I'm really nervous and scared I have PCOS. I have always had irregular periods since I started in 6th grade and my last real period was when I was 16 before having to be put on BC. I have the signs of PCOS, but my doctor is telling me not to get so worked up. I can't help it. I'm fearing the worse so I'm ready. Anyone else been feeling like me while waiting? I won't know my results til next week. I'm just so nervous :hissy:

Your Doc will probably rx you provera to get your cycle going and maybe clomid to help you ovulate since you are wanting to ttc. If its PCOS, he may rx metformin as well. Losing weight definitely helps but PCOS makes it harder to do so. You just have to figure out what works best for your body. Research, research, research. And start learning your body. I have PCOS and the one thing I'm grateful about having it is that it taught me to become in tune with my body. Hoping your blood work comes back ok and your Dr gets you in the right path :) Good luck!
