I've read and heard conflicting advice about this...

My little one is 3 and 1/2 weeks old and for the past ten days she has been feeding every four hours, a schedule she seemed to choose but suits us really well and we are keen to stick to. But the past three nights we have had to wake her up for her 11 o clock feed - she still takes a full bottle but just doesn't wake for it by herself and stays very sleepy...

Should I be doing this or should I let her sleep and lose the schedule?

You will probably find that she will take the 11pm bottle without even needing to be woken. Its called a dream feed. Given that she is still very young I would keep offering her the 11pm dream feed. You will find that over the next few weeks she will drink less and less of this feed and will probably drop this bottle first when she is ready xx

For me, that would depend on how the rest of the night goes. Does she then wake up to feed around 3:00 or so or will she sleep longer than that after the 11:00 feeding? Also depends on what time you go to sleep yourself. If after that 11:00 feeding she sleeps a good 5 or 6 hour stretch, then definatly keep doing it, it'll be a dream feed.

Even if she does wake up 4 hours later, around 3:00, you still may want to keep doing it to avoid her waking up at 12 or 1:00. You can experiment one night though and not wake her up for it and see how long she'll sleep - if she's going to basically skip that feeding all together and not wake until 3:00ish anyway, then I'd skip it, but if you're going to bed yourself around 11:00 and she's going to wake at like 12 or 1 if you don't dream feed her that feeding, then that's going to give you less sleep so keep giving it.

If my DD has a bottle 6/7ish and is asleep still at 10/11 I will wake her but she does not normally take much of it but I will keep doing it for now x
