Our son is 3 days shy of 8 months and has started pulling himself up and cruising along the furniture over the past few weeks. I think he's ready to take steps, but I'm definitely not

When did your LOs start showing an interest in walking?

My DS started cruising at 8 months, took steps at 10 months and started walking properly a week after his birthday. It was fun when he started walking.

My youngest two could pull up and cruise at 7 months. Both started walking at 9.5

Dd2 stopped craeling completely before 10 months, she was very confident whereas dd3 who is 9.5 months is alot more cautious abd still mostly crawls

He lost interest in learning to crawl when he realised he could stand up :dohh:

Mine started cruising at about 9 months, took a step or two at 10.5 months and walked properly at 12 months.

Thomas pulled up at 6 months, Sophie at 9 months. Both walked at 11 months.

Both of mine had a 2 weeks period of time where they pulled up and then let go and stood there unaided before they took those first steps.

Dd1 could pull to stand at 6 months, cruised at 7, first steps at 9 months and confidently walking at 10.

Dd2 pulled to stand at 7 months, cruised the same week, first steps at 10 months and confidently walking less than a week later. She took to it so quickly xx

DD first pulled up to stand on her own steam at a few days off 6 months...she never really cruised much; she was more interested in free-standing in the middle of the room :haha: She took her first steps at 8.5 months, and stopped crawling not long after 9 months...I'm sad about that as she had the cutest, most manic little crawl wih her arms and legs flailing everywhere. Now at nearly 10.5 months she is walking about like she was born doing it :D

My daughter started pulling up and cruising at 8 months like your LO, but she didn't walk until 15 months and not constantly (without crawling) until 16 months. So there can still be a really big gap between cruising and independent walking, which is perfectly normal. 15 months is the average age for walking.

Mine walked at 12 months but she gave no indication she was ready for it, she just started walking out of the blue one day!

My daughter pulled up & bum shuffled at 8 months and has confidently cruised round furniture since 9 months. crawled at 10 months and has learnt to climb stairs/on furniture etc since then but now at 14 months she will stand unaided and take steps with her toys but showing no signs of letting go yet

My 10mo has just started standing and cruising in the last month but isn't showing any signs of walking on her own yet. She does keep letting go and just standing on her own for a few seconds though! It's crazy! My little girl is growing up

M was holding him self up into standing from about 6 month old, crawled at 8m took steps when holding hands, or 1-2 steps alone at about 11 month, walked at 13 months

All I'm hearing from you ladies is that my baby is going to grow up whether I like it or not
