Hi,

It's a long shot and a vague one really.

During the daytime we use only WNOS and ebay cheapies. So ideally I need something for night time that has been used by someone with similar nappy tastes!!

At the moment we use pampers for nightime use and I would love to move away from this as it's not ideal.

I'd also like wool longies as I do like the idea of the urine evaporating rather than her being wet all night.

Bubba is 1 year and 2 weeks and is slim and petite ish. I can't give accurate measurements as she's in bed, but for the WNOS (if it's any guide) we are on the full rise, i.e.e, not poppered us the front and she's on the setting where the outer tightest poppers connect to the ones in line with the riser adjusting poppers.

I'm after everything I would need for night times, (even if it's only one nights worth), as I've never used fitteds / soakers / longies etc etc before.

PS - side snaps don't work for us. Have tried normal WNSS nappies with bad results, hence why I'm not ordering WNNN.

have you thought about Ellas house hemp nappies Mynx has some for sale i think, the large size fits my EJ and his BTP's sound like they are done up the same as yours,
id sell mine but i need them as part of my night stash lol,
as for wool if you can knit you could try making some longies or try CNT's wool section for a bargin

I did think about knitting some, but all the patterns I've found want circular needles. Goes a bit beyond my knitting ability. I'll tackle pretty much anything with straight needles!!

Here's a pdf file (you'll need Adobe installed on your pc to view it) for some longies. At the beginning it shows the pattern for newborn ones which require circular needles but if you scroll down, the larger sizes are also shown and are knitted on straights, and are just regular stocking stitch

I knitted 3 pairs of longies for Evie and they came out lovely :D You ideally need 100% wool which you would then lanolize (Little Pants has some Lanolin on her website, the link is in her siggy)
I have read somewhere that you can use acrylic wool and it would act more like fleece than pure wool but IMO, wool has always come out better for us. Fleece leaves a slight dampness!

Lynnikins was right, I did have some Bumhuggers for sale but last night we decided that we were going to give them another shot because they are such great nappies
I can sell a Totsbots Bamboozle (original style) to you instead if you'd like try one of them? They're aplix, and large and have a kind of fold out flap inside. Usually I'll put a bamboo booster (Little Lamb one) and a microfibre cloth folded up into the wetzone with a fleece liner over the top. They are bulky but all night nappies are :haha:
I might be selling the Bumhuggers again in a week or so, I will let you know tho!

Thanks Mynx!!

Fold out flap in the wetzone. Oh god. I'm so out of my depth on this one! I will buy whatever you recommend as I have no clue what I'm doing here! I understand my pockets and the insert combinations perfectly and I'm pretty good at those now. But this is blowing my mind!!!

As I know what inserts work for her during the day, could I just load up the night one with essentially that combo but a bit beefier?? I suppose the wet zone is the front bit as she sleeps mainly on her front??

Thanks for the pattern and I'll talk to littlepants about wool and lanolin. Had a look there the other day during a discussion about longies (hence why I'm now here asking this question)!!

So on the nappy - yes please, whatever you recomend. If I start with one I can try it and then hunt down more if it works. Meanwhile I can get knitting with a lovely simple non circular pattern!!

PM me prices and paypal details.

Thanks!!

Mynx - funnily enough I found that pattern the other night but didn't look to the end assuming it was all circular needles!

Perfect and looks really easy. Ta!!

PM'd you hun :)

Yes the wetzone is where your LO tends to pee the most. Evie's is also kind of at the front so we just make sure that's boosted well :)
As for the types of booster, as you say, what works for you during the day, just make it a little beefier for nights ;) It's all trial and error really.

PS - side snaps don't work for us. Have tried normal WNSS nappies with bad results, hence why I'm not ordering WNNN.

Bear in mind that with fitted nappies, the fit isn't quite so crucial. For example, I purposely leave the legs of my LO's WNNN quite loose as I think it seems comfier for all night. Unless your LO does runny night poos, it probably wouldn't matter very much, if at all, if it was a bit loose in places.

Thanks ladies - and another pattern!! Ooooh I will be busy!!

RachelC - prob with side snaps is her rise. She's dinky, but her waist seems high so with WNSS, even the high rise ones she seems to get a builders bum. We don't get runny poos at night at all, but sometimes she will provide us with a huge solid cornish pasty (what OH calls them when they get that squashed between bottom look)!! So nothing that would escape. Will certainly bear in mind that looser is a bit better. Probably more comfy too all night long.

lol my next job is to get some nice 100% wool and start some longies of my own for EJ

Wool and lanolin now ordered from littlepants! Nappy on way from Mynx. Yay!!
