There are alot of theories about newborn babies tending to look like the father more than the mother.

Supposedly some sort of thing thats happened with human evolution, to help fathers determine the paternity of their offspring and bond with them (because obviously fathers couldnt be sure if the baby was theirs before DNA tests existed)

It was true for me, Phoebe looks so much like her daddy, and doesnt really look like me at all!

Did any one else experience this?

Definitely true for us. In her newborn photos, you can hardly tell my LO and her dad apart. But now she is the spitting image of me.

Definitely true! Even now she is the image of her Dad. I remember when she was ten weeks old we went to see some friends and stopped at a services and the woman who served us said 'Wow, you wouldn't need a DNA test for that little one would you?' Makes me laugh even to this day! x

True for us - at first. In the beginning he was literally a mini version of my husband. Nowadays people are saying that they see a lot more of me in him now, plus it's more obvious that he has my eyes. My eyes in his daddy's face!

I heard that too but if anything it was reverse for us. LO looked a lot like me at first for about 2 months but now at nearly 6 months she is like a miniature of OH and looks absolutely nothing like me,

She is all blonde hair and blue eyes, I am very dark (eyes and hair) and her little face and expressions are her daddy's through and through. We spent weekend at OH's parents house last week and all family was going on and on about how much LO looks like OH. MIL found a photo of OH at six month and I swear it could have been LO. Yet in the first few weeks if you took a photo of me at same age we looked like the same baby. Makes no sense to me!

Reverse here for us too and lo still looks like a mini me with a boyish touch lol

my lo did when she was newborn now she looks atlot like me even looks like me when i was a baby.... but i still see alot of her dad in her depending on how she looks at u lol x

Yes it applies to me, my little girl looks just like her daddy and so far doesnt resemble me at all! Ah well maybe my next LO will look like me xxx

All three of my boy's look like there daddy, Almost everyone that see's one of the kids first thing they say it WOW you look like your Dad lol I am so used too it, However I do think my middle son dose have some of my side of the family

No, Joshua was and still is the spitting image of me as a baby (has my eyes and my nose and head shape, mouth and chin are OH):

I was about 10months here and Josh is about 2 months in that pic but you get the idea!

It's the opposite for us. She looked so much like me for the first month, now looks more and more like her dad every day.

Yes our LO was at birth and still is now the spitting image of her daddy, I grumbled so much in the beginning as it seems I did all the work for her to be his double but I love it now 8 weeks later.

Nope. Alice was the image of me as a newborn. It's only the last 2 months she looks like DH and nowt like me!

My LO looks nothing like his dad, I believe he looks just like me and alot of people agree

I believe as the theory goes, its not that the LOs actually look like the dad, or really the mom for that matter, but rather evolutionarily people most often SAY that baby looks like the dad, so the father would be more inclined to provide for the infant. At such a young age infants look more like other infants, rather than distinctly like their parents.

Modern studies have also shown that when infant pictures are slightly modified to resemble a man, that man is more likely to choose that infant to financially and emotionally support.

Really cool stuff if you ask me In our case people have actually been saying that Jackson looks more like me, but now theyre backpedaling and saying he looks like a mixture of us both (well duh )

My LO looks like her daddy did as a baby. I showed him a baby photo and he asked when I took that pic of LO and was a bit shocked when I told him it was actually him!! She does look like her daddy too but definitely has my nose xx
