Watching Horror/Scary Movies while pregnant?

Hiya, has anyone else been told not to watch horror films while pregnant? it seems to be a tale that goes around in my family .. i've never actually thought to ask a midwife about it.. have any of you heard this?

Apparently if it makes you jump/tense/scared its bad for the baby..

I think your family are talking pants. Women have been pregnant through wars and still had babys.

i am aware of that. but its not just my family thats said it, i've heard loads of people say it. some kind of old wives tale.

Prolonged stress is bad for baby but a scary film wont do any harm.
