I need advise as to what to do about getting rid of the fluid in my feet and ankles. They have been swollen for a few days now and I have small white spots (I don't think there blisters...) that have just shown up I want to say due to the swelling but could be from heat also... Just not sure what to do.
I've tried walking, putting my feet up, I am drinking plenty of fluids. I've even put my tennis shoes on to get the fluid out of my feet which worked but then when I took the shoes back off the fluid went back quicker than I thought it would.

I had my section on Wednesday the 31st, mid day. And some of the swelling goes down during the night when I am sleeping, just not all of it then it just comes back when I get up.

My feet were swollen for a few weeks after my section, I think you're doing all the right things. My midwife told me to make sure I was we'll hydrated and to keep my feet raised. They do go down eventually, then it looks like you've got the skinniest feet ever! Xx

mine took a couple of weeks to go down, just try and keep them up when you can, they will go down eventually its completely normal after a section :flower:

I don't remember this in particular. Just remember retaining water for the second half of my pregnancy in general :haha: Hope you feel better soon. Congratulations on your new baby :baby:

I still have a week to go but my Mom told me to put an ice pack on my ankles because that's where most of my swelling originates from. Otherwise, elevate your feet and gentle walks (if you can) will help increase circulation.

Oh I had this in my hands and feet after my section. Are you wearing the surgical stockings? I think they made my feet worse, but I was told that it was not wearing them that made me swell up so badly!

my gp told me to stop wearing them because they can make them worse which i also thought they were doing at the time xx

Totally normal and will subside with time but call dr if concerned.
