we start waterbabies tomorrow:thumbup: but im really nervous :dohh: has anyone had lessons with them before? what dp you usually do in the 1st lesson? thanks x

We had our first one today!t was great.
They show you how to hold baby, and things to do with baby in the water, like putting them in the swimming position. Bouncing. And they start putting baby underwater.... which is ABSOULTLY fine, bubs will not be too bothered about it.

Just be prepared for baby to be EXHAUSTED afterwards. Tobi has slept ages today!

Good luck and enjoy.

Are you only allowed one adult in with them at any session?? Both hubs and I are going to go along to the pool but I'm assuming that you're only allowed one of you in the water with them???

we was told one adult in but might be dif?

our lesson is tea time anyway so he ll prob have a bottle and go to bed glad you enjoyefd it x

Ooh how exciting! Ethan has done Waterbabies since 8 weeks old. First lesson they go over the holds with you. They introduce the Name, Ready, Go command which you do before they go under or have water on their face. They have a bit of water onto their head by you after Name, Ready, Go and do small then larger bounces round the pool. I think they might introduce the splish splash song too. The submersion is just from the instructor to you and is short. None of the babies cried when we did our first one, amazing! They show you the swim position too. Hope you love it and your LO loves it!

Only 1 adult in the pool. Best if it's the same one each time of at least every half term, but the other parent usually watches :)

^^ WSS

although, we are taking it in turns in the pool with him as we have been swimming every week since he was 7 weeks.

Alsp take a camera and get the instructor to ask the other parents if it is ok for a pic of ur baby to be taken and then you can get babies first swim. You can't do that at a public session!

Yep. Only one adult with baby in the pool and SOME places apparently (don't know where) don't have proper changing facilities for you to swap and change (which doesn't actually make any sense)

The classes are cool and babies get used to it and enjoy it and MOST babies don't even notice they're gone under water. :haha:

They totally rip you off big time with the photo sessions at the end of each term though.

They let 2 of us in the pool one week. Wouldn't normally. Depends how much room there is.

Oooh interesting, we start Sunday, can't wait! Good luck with yours tomorrow :)

hanks girls think my mums comeing with us hes been swimming loads before with his dad and really enjoys it so hopefully i wont be to nervous x

It sounds so much fun!
I'd be nervous too though, but I bet you both love it! xxx

I'm gutted, I wanted to start today with Lewis, but because of the pool being used he had to be 14lbs and he's only 13.5lbs so we'll need to wait till next term

Thats such a shame. I wonder why they have this restriction?

Joshua did the first course last term, starting up again tomorrow :D He loves it! We have been practising a bit at our loal pool, hope he remembers it all!
