Waterproof sheets for pram/moses basket?

Are you planning to use a waterproof sheet under the normal sheet in your pram or moses basket? I'm buying a couple of waterproof sheets for the cot bed mattress and it suddenly occured to me that it might be a good idea to have some for the pram mattress but not sure if this is necessary?

I haven't decided yet. Will prob get one for the cot - unsure about the pram/moses basket.

I haven't. Haven't seen any for sale anywhere either now I think about it... Might be an idea though... Does anyone know where you can get them?

I enquired about this when we bought our moses basket and they said the mattress is waterproof anyway so you dont need one? x

I had thought about it but havent decided. Im considering the possibility of using a maternity mat to protect the carseat and moses perhaps...but undecided xx

oh yeh, i've just remembered my moses basket one is already covered in a waterproof layer...not sure about the pram mattress though, but I believe the pram liners are all washable anyway!x

Maybe it's best if I wait until I have my pram then I can check the mattress. Although even if the mattress is waterproof I'm thinking maybe putting a waterproof sheet on top might be easier than taking out the mattress to wipe it down every time there's a spill/leak. But am not sure as have never done this before!

I've got one for the cotbed, but the moses basket matress is waterproof anyway

I'm going to stick a pampers change mat under the pram sheets so I can just bin it if things get grotty!! As for cotbed, pampers also do bigger mattress protecters which you also just bin. HTH! xx

I looked for a moses basket waterproof sheet, but couldn't find one. The mattress is waterproof by the look of it, but don't know about the pram. Perhaps cots have waterproof sheets because they might see the transition from nappies to potty training, whereas a baby will be in nappies all the time in a moses basket??

Hope you don't mind me butting in

I've got 4 kiddly winks and I found that double folding a muslin at the head of the cot over the sheet was the best way of absorbing sick/mucous etc and easier to just pop a new muslin down rather than change the sheet everytime they made a mess, which could be 7/8 times a day with a newborn.
