So, I'm really interested in hearing the details of everybody's weddings... I want to post mine as soon as I have some sorted out! This post isn't to judge other people's ideas or anything, I just want to hear! Even if you haven't got a thing sorted, tell me about your dream wedding!

Ok, we get married in October in Brighton...

Details:
What's your wedding's theme and colors?

We don't have a theme other than relaxed, casual, simple but very classy. We want the people there to have a wonderful day, to have a weekend away and to leave feeling refreshed and like they have had a break and stayed in an amazing hotel, eaten world class food and drunk gorgeous wine. Colour wise, again, no scheme as such but we seem to have quite a lot of browns and oranges involved.

What kind of favors are you giving to guests?

As we are getting married in our favourite place, Brighton, we have old school sweetie mixture bags and 10 pieces of rock for each person which will be tied with a luggage lable personalised with the wedding date.

Where are you having the ceremony? The reception?

We have exclusively hired a hotel right on the seafront in Brighton so it will be completely taken over by our wedding party which is wonderful, no one else can be in the bar or in the restaurant or the rooms, everyone will involved in the day. It is a civil ceremony and we have chosen a fairly late one, 4pm, as we don't want a traditional wedding so it will be the same people throughout the day with no extras for night time and we won't be having a band or DJ or anything, just quiet music and a cocktail party type event. It is "our" hotel, our favourite place, where we went for our first weekend away, where we go each year for our anniversary weekend and last year, where Squiddy was concieved!

What color/style is your wedding gown? What will your bridesmaids wear?

My gown is a Jenny Packham, other than that you'll have to wait for the photos!!

I am having just one bridesmaid and we have not bought her dress yet.

What did your invitations look like? Do you have pictures?

Still undecided but very simple and classic like the rest of the day.

Are you having a religious ceremony? Are there any family traditions you have?

Nope, a Civil Ceremony for us. And nope, no family traditions for us to keep. Knowing us, even if there were no one would expect us to do them just because!

What's your first dance song?

We are not having one, it is not "us"....we did consider making everyone else dance for us though.....

What favors are you giving to the bridal party/bridesmaids?

Our Best Man has a watch, my brother our Usher I am not sure about yet, our Bridesmaid has some jewellery and a hamper full of goodies I have made up, I have made one for both Mums too. The folks are both getting a weekend away on us as a thank you.

I can not wait, it is going to be the most amazing day, not because of the above but beacuase I will be Mrs P

Pops, your wedding sound absolutely delightful. I'm so jealous that you're able to rent out an entire hotel on the beach! I'd love for my wedding to be simple, casual and fun as well. What's your wedding's theme and colors?

No specific theme but colours are black and white with hints of fuschia.

What kind of favors are you giving to guests?

So far we haven't planned to have any, we are getting married on a budget but I have thought about making cookies or cupcakes for everyone and Icing their name and the wedding date on to them.
I love baking so it is any excuse!

Where are you having the ceremony? The reception?

The ceremony is at retford registry office, we wanted to have it in the gorgeous ball room we have hired but registrar fees were ridiculous!

The reception is in the ballroom, it is gorgeous, has a big grand staircase for everyone to walk up and huge chandeliers, the room makes me gasp as soon as I walk into it!

What color/style is your wedding gown? What will your bridesmaids wear?

My gown is a Carol Li design by Veromia. It is a gorgeous princess dress with lots of black and white beading.
As soon as I was it I knew it was the one for me!

I'm having my two closest friends and my two sisters as bridesmaids, they are wearing fuschia dresses, and amazingly even though they are all different shapes and sizes the dress suits each and every one of them.

What did your invitations look like? Do you have pictures?

My OH used to run a printing company, so he is a dab hand at photoshop and what not. He has designed our invitations and they are lovely. Even if I do say so myself.


Are you having a religious ceremony? Are there any family traditions you have?

Nope, neither one of us is religious.
No family traditions either

What's your first dance song?

It is a song we both love. But we are keeping it a surprise from everyone.

What favors are you giving to the bridal party/bridesmaids?

Well I'm going to do OH a little box of goodies for the morning of the wedding, socks, boxers, a couple mini bottles of alcohol, some rescue remedy, mints, lip balm, aftershave etc.

I really want to do a boudoir photoshoot for him too, so I can put the photo in his goodie box

And lastly a watch to open after the wedding.

Bridesmaids - My sisters are both getting a piece of jewellery.
My other two bridesmaids I will be doing a similar goodie bag for them, with 'bridesmaid' undies, mini bottles of alcohol, and I'm thinking some nice earrings.

Best Mans pressie will be up to OH.

We're getting married on April 7th in Aberystwyth.
Details:
What's your wedding's theme and colors?
We don't have a specific theme as such, although there is a very loose thread of Celtic going on- our wedding rings are Celtic knotwork, I'm wearing a torc as wedding jewellery, the cake has Celtic knotwork detailing and the invitations had a Celtic design on them, etc. Our colours are blue and ivory with some yellow thrown in!

What kind of favors are you giving to guests?
We're not giving favours.

Where are you having the ceremony? The reception?
The ceremony is in the restaurant on top of Constitution hill in Aberystwyth. The building itself isn't that impressive but the veiws are amazing! We'll be having our wedding meal there too. The reception is on the other side of town in Aberystwyth Rugby Club.

What color/style is your wedding gown? What will your bridesmaids wear?
My wedding dress is royal blue with an ivory panel on the left side of the skirt. It's a corsetted bodice with a loose flowing skirt that's quite straight. It's gorgeous and elegant and I love it and it's not even finished yet!! I won't have a veil but a circlet made of chain maille and a velvet cloak. My bridesmaids are wearing their own dresses that fit into the colour scheme and my moh, who's male, will be wearing a navy blue suit. My flowergirl will be wearing a dress made to match my wedding dress but in ivory with blue details and a blue shrug.

What did your invitations look like? Do you have pictures?
No pictures, sorry! I made my own invitations. They were very simple- just ivory card with a blue Celtic pattern stamped in opposite corners and 'wedding invitation' written on it in calligraphy. The evening invitations will be a printout of the details with a Celtic pattern stamped in one corner!

Are you having a religious ceremony? Are there any family traditions you have?
Nope, we're just having a religious ceremony and the only family tradition we'll be keeping is one of OH's- just a family walk on the beach the following day!

What's your first dance song?
As the World Falls Down by David Bowie (it's the song played during the ball scene in Labyrinth!)

What favors are you giving to the bridal party/bridesmaids?
My moh will be getting pocket watch chains simply because he asked for them! My adult bridesmaid will be getting a pair of chain maille earring, my young bridesmaid a pewter earrings and necklace set in Celtic patterns and my flowergirl, our neice, a charm bracelet with a blue charm on. We intend to add a charm to it for every one of her birthdays and Christmases after the wedding so it's something that she has that's just from us, which is quite important to us as she lives quite a long way away from us and we don't see her very often. My mum will get a broach and my dad a pocket watch! I'm leaving OH to deal with buying fot the best man and his parents!

We get married on 1st may.

We are getting married in north Wales.

A small church in northop followed by reception in nothop hall hotel in the marquee. We don't get married until 3pm. We arehaving a buffet, then bacon butties and chips around 9pm.

We are having a dj and a comedy/ singing duet called harper brothers, who are bobby balls sons (cannon and ball)

our theme is royal blue and a laid back fun atmophere.

My dress is royal blue and ivory with lots of imbelishments on it I got off eBay and my 2 adult bridesmaids are wearing royal blue strapless dresses. Don't know what flower girl is wearing yet.

We are unsure what favours or gifts to do yet.

What's your wedding's theme and colors?

Traditional but sophisticated Scottish wedding. Colour theme at the moment is purple and ivory. Traditional Scottish translates to big family gathering, lots of eating, dancing and talking!

What kind of favors are you giving to guests?

As the wedding is around Easter time, I am having little egg cups filled with homemade toffee.

Where are you having the ceremony? The reception?

We are having the ceremony and reception in a country manor hotel. We have exclusive use of the hotel for the day. Myself and the bridal party are staying there the night before

What color/style is your wedding gown? What will your bridesmaids wear?

I havent been dress shopping yet - eeek, excited! Cant wait. Bridesmaids will be in purple.

What did your invitations look like? Do you have pictures?

No invitations yet, but they will tie in with colour theme

Are you having a religious ceremony? Are there any family traditions you have?

We will be having a traditional Church of Scotland ceremony with hand blessing, and a quaich.

Probably Links of London stuff for the girls, and the boys are very much in to their cigars, so probably some posh cigars

What's your wedding's theme and colors?My theme will be red to go with my dress with some white and black detail.
What kind of favors are you giving to guests?Im making my own,white and milk chocolate hearts in clear bags wrapped with red and black ribbon.

What's your wedding's theme and colors?
Tiffany Blue, and Brown! Or something very close to! I love the combo, and then my OH gets "manly" colours in there too instead of the pink I originally wanted!!

What kind of favors are you giving to guests?
That we haven't completely decided yet. I like the idea that I read on here about a donation! Both of our families have been affected by cancers and such, so it's an option. If not that, possibly candies/chocolates in a cute little box. Still undecided yet!


Where are you having the ceremony? The reception?
Still not 100% sure yet. We have a few choices, one of which is a golf course just outside of town, it's gorgeous, but it's twice as expensive as some in town options we have! Once the Olympics are over we're going to get some appointments set up to talk to different venues about prices, meal options, etc. (waiting til after olympics as my OH works for the television station that is hosting the olympics, so he's working tons of extra hours for the month!)

What color/style is your wedding gown? What will your bridesmaids wear?
My wedding dress will more than likely be princess style! Definitely strapless! Haven't gone near the stores yet though, because I have quite a bit of weight I'd like to lose before I go! As for my bridesmaid, going to be brown, with the blue as a sash.

Hopefully we will find something with the brown and blue that's within our budget!

Civil ceremony for us! We are not religious at all!

What favors are you giving to the bridal party/bridesmaids? Right now we only have 2 people in the party! My Maid of Honour and my OH's Best Man.. If that's how it stays (we've been discussing another 2 to add!) then we'll probably splurge and get something really good! My maid of honour gives so much though, and doesn't need much. She runs a dog rescue here in Ontario, and Ir eally think she'd much prefer a donation! But I can't do that to her!

What's your wedding's theme and colors?
Our theme is red and ivory. Supposedly red and white flowers are bad luck so just have a red bouquet.

What kind of favors are you giving to guests?
No favours. I really wanted these sets that Green and Blacks do of miniature chocolates but everyone talked me out of having favours.

Where are you having the ceremony? The reception?
We're having it at an amazing country house hotel in Sussex next thursday. Has lots of huge fireplaces etc. Ceremony and reception in same place and 16 bedrooms too so most guests can stay.

Really stuck on this. BM is getting a voucher for a lovely beauty salon here. Best man getting comics (best not to ask!) and ushers maybe a brandy glass or something.

One thing I am really looking forward to though is we are having a singer and pianist for the ceremony singing some gorgeous songs and a live band for the evening party.

We are having the ceremony and the reception at the same place at The City of Manchester Stadium - OH is a huge Manchester City fan lol .

My wedding dress is ivory, with a relatively plain bodice apart from detailing around the top and then a sort of lace skirt with tiny Swarkoski (?) crystals on it so it shimmers with sort of netting (not netting lol but you know what I mean!) over the top sweeping to one side with a corsage at the hip. My bridesmaids are wearing baby blue ankle length dresses that flare out from the waist.

What did your invitations look like? Do you have pictures?
My invitations are being made by myself. They have a blue rectangle on them with a silver heart and a gem in the corner.

Are you having a religious ceremony? Are there any family traditions you have?
No, we are having a civil ceremony. No family traditions hopefully, cos all my families side end in divorce lol !
