What style of wedding band are you having??

We are having platinum plain bands, mine will be polished and OH brushed finish.

Question i have is, does anyone know if there are different grades of platinum?? Like gold you have carots etc...only reason i ask, is in one shop it £xx amount and in another shop its cheaper...?? Like a lot cheaper!?

I have a white golf diamond set ring to match my engagement and OH had a yellow gold band, we chose that for him because of his job and anything else is likely to be ruined.

I think there are different grades of platinum but not in carat form, i think it may be to do with purity the same as diamonds, im not sure, have you tried googling?

mine is a plain platinum band (we have to get platinum as my engagement ring is platinum) I believe there are a couple of different grades of platinum but i think wedding rings tend to be a medium or heavy weight because they need to be hard wearing

future hubby's is palladium, it is very similar to platinum just not quite as shiny but you only notice that when it is next to platinum, otherwise you can't tell at all. as palladium isn't registered properly as a precious metal (and therefore hall marked), it is alot cheaper than platinum, however it is due to be registered soon so will go up in price soon

I have a platinum band shaped to fit my engagement ring, and Mr Boofs has a thick palladium band x

Arh ha, that would maybe explain why Beaver Brooks are way more expensive than H Samuels but i thought it was just because they were being snobby!

My engagement ring in from Beaver Brookes and platinum. David wanted platinum because i was haiving it and he wanted the same! Men!
