Hey ladies,

Just wanted to ask if you found it difficult to get your pre preg body back after a c section??

My little man is 8 weeks and 2 days , my scar still hasn't healed properly so I'm not allowed to exercise yet ( other than small walks) .

I put on loads of weight while pregnant! Over 3 stone!! I've lost quite a bit since giving birth but feel if I could go back to the gym I'd lose it quicker.

Are any of you struggling with weight and exercise and if you've already had a c section how long did it take to lose the weight??

Thanks for reading :flower:

Ull get there :) I wouldn't be worrying about it yet! just eat right until ur body has had a chance to heal and then get to it with exercise

I didn't really try and loose weight until my LO was 1. I lost about a stone naturally in that year and in may started running and eating right. I've lost 31lbs since then and I'm almost back to my pre-preggo weight :D my clothes size is smaller though

Xxx

I was thankfully back to my pre pregnancy weight 1 week after c section. I am not as toned as i want to be but will start exercising after i receive clearance from my doctor.

I didn't start exercising till LO was about 10 weeks old and even then I only went for a stroll round the park with her.

However, after my 6 week check up, I practically walked out of the dr's office and straight into a slimming world group! And let me tell you, it changed my life!! I've lost 1 stone 3 and a half in 10 weeks! I now weigh less than I did before I got pregnant.

I would definitly recommend it, I've never been a dieter, but this doesn't feel like a diet...I eat sooooooo much food!!

Hey, like the other poster said it's still early days and not much you can do if you're not allowed to exercise yet, there's plenty if time for that! I put on 2 st 8 this time and at 6 month pp i have 2 pounds to lose. You'll get there !

I went back to pre pg weight after my son after my 5 wk checkup but have never really been as toned as i was. After 3 yrs, i even started my pre pg weight 5 lbs heavier :( its not even much, but still depressing. Ive just got to apply myself moreso after baby this time! I'm getting a treadmill as it's gonna be winter, so cant take walks outside. It'll be a gentle start when i'm given the go ahead :) dont rush it too soon! Take all the time you need to heal, you have as much time as you need afterwards!

I was back in my pre pregnancy clothes at around 3 weeks postpartum. I only gained 20 pound in my pregnancy and also developed post partum depression so my appetite was next to nothing. Not sure how the weight loss would have gone if I had a normal appetite and ability to eat...probably not as well!

Thanks for the replies ladies :)

It helps to hear how others have done, think I may try an look in to local dieting groups for healthy cooking ideas. Also I may up my walking an see if that helps ( well it can't do any harm lol)

I don't know how much 3 stone is  But I gained 72 pounds during my first pregnancy and it caused all kinds of health problems. I went from nearly my ideal weight for my height to majorly obese in a matter of about 5 months!

After the birth, I walked ASAP. I also decided to eat everything natural. I stopped eating white sugar and flour and ate all organic food. Not because I'm a tree hugger or anything. I had just read a book about how evil processed food was and I wanted to try it :haha: I also drank large quantities of water.

I'm so full of nervous energy that I did nothing but walk and pace all the time. I almost never sat down.

I lost 81 pounds in 5 months and weighed nearly 10 pounds less than I did when I got pregnant. I actually don't recommend that. I ended up with a ton of loose skin because I lost too fast. Pace yourself. It can and will happen if you make it a priority. Good luck! :)

My LO is 7 weeks old today and I havent done anything about my pregnancy weight. I did loose half of it naturally and then another half a stone when I was breastfeeding (probably put it back on now)
Winter months are hard as you just want to comfort eat, and finding the time to diet is hard. I am going for gentle strolls and am thinking about joining weight watchers in January and then the gym.
My scar is healing very well and I have no pain/tenderness anymore so hopefully ill be back to pre-pregnancy weight soon, hopefully less as i really need to loose a few stone :-(
I am in my pre-pregnancy clothes though :)

I bounced back very fast. Other than my scar, you can't even tell I had a c-section. I didn't exercise or anything. You'll get there. Hang in there.

I was back to my pre preg weight 2 weeks after my c section but I breast fed for first 2 weeks which I think helped me lose weight so quickly but I was quite lucky and only put on 1 1/2 stone when preg and had a 8 1/2lb baby x

Hey ladies :) I've up my walking and I can see the old me coming bk .... I'm losing the weight about 1 - 2 lb a week which I'm happy with.

Can I ask how long it took your scar to stop itching ?? Mines still quite pink, I'm not feeling great and wondering if it's infected. .? It will be 11 weeks tomorrow since the c section.

Krystal, when did your scar start to itch? I am 3 weeks in and so far, no itching but it is a bit red. I just had a OBGYN appointment today and she said everything looked fine. I think it being red is somewhat normal. If it was infected you would be in pain and possibly have a fever. I hope all is well and congrats for losing weight! :)

Thank you :) an your baby looks sooo cute in your profile pic! It started to itch about a week ago ... None of my friends have had c sections so got no one to compare too.

The scar also feels hard but is still pink and not skin coloured .... Mine was still red at 3 weeks too ... I had a little hole in mine for a while but it's been completely healed for about 4 weeks ... Just seems to be taking forever !

I am 6 weeks post-c. I gained 37 lbs while pregnant. I've lost over 40 now and am in sight of my high school weight, which is crazy. I have been fairly active though, against some medical advice - I had a bunch of doctors in the hospital, and the older ones were against physical activity before 8 weeks, while the younger ones were very pro, so guess whose advice I followed? ;-) I can't sit still, so as soon as I could move around, I was doing laundry, light housework, going for increasingly longer walks etc. No pain, so I figure it's OK. I'm nursing my son, who has a huge appetite, so mine has also increased. I don't count calories - I just shovel it in whenever I can! I am lighter than I was prebaby, but of course not toned at all - I was a runner before but had to stop at 5 mos because it was too hot (hate indoor running). Can't wait to run again!

My sons got his 12 wk check next week so might ask about the scar and if I can go bk to the gym yet! Like you flyer girl I used to run ( just for excerise) and found it the best way to manage my weight.
Before I got pregnant I weighed 7 st 6lbs I'm now currently 8 st 12lbs ... I'm not fussed about getting bk to my pre preg weight but would like to be 7st 12 as it suits my frame the best ... But no I won't get there with out the gym and I'm noticing the more weight I lose the more un toned I look!! Not good lol

With my first child i gained 47 pounds! and lost about 28 of it. And with my second i gained 32 lbs and only lost 18 of it. So i still had 30lbs from both to lose. It is hard!! When i had my third i gained 25lbs and lost all of it within 12 days! But I still had the 30 from the first two. You get stuck in a rut and it takes time to lose it.

I gained 21 pounds in pregnancy and by 7 days after my Caesarian I had lost 22 pounds and fit in my pre pregnancy clothes, I feel very lucky :)

Just wish recover from Caesarian was as easy.
