Weird pelvic ultrasound result?

basically I'm pcos. I've been at my heaviest for over a year now and no natural cycles. Until January when I had one out of the blue so dh and I went on a health kick. We've each lost 25 lbs. In March I went on Met. On April 7th I had my first acupuncture appt. And after I went and had a pelvic ultrasound. The next day I started my period on CD80. I don't know for sure I ovulated because I haven't been temping.

My results from my pelvic ultrasound, from the day before my cycle started, says that I had a mature follicle that would ovulate in 2-3 days and that I am to be assumed fertile and ovulating. .... What? But I'm on my period? I'm so confused!!

Calling doc this am.

Anyone have an idea? Waiting to hear back from Dr. but I'm just so confused.
