I thought I would share the worst pain I've had in recovery because it's so weird... Shoulder pain! Like real bad, shooting pain in my right shoulder. Apparently when they do the section, lots of air gets trapped in the body, and it tends to target the shoulder. It's been worse than the pain of the surgery site! The only way to help it is to move around, so I've been just a pacing this little room!

Drink peppermint tea/water if you can.. It will help disperse the trapped wind xx

if you can, lie on the side of the pain (so on your right) air rises so it will help to disperse it. I'm a gynae nurse and my patients get this alot after surgery

Omg i had this and it is the WORST pain ever! Felt like my right shoulder was being ripped apart! I thought i was going to die! Been through horrendous vbacs but nothing compared to this pain and thats saying something as i have a high pain thresh hold!
I was given pepermint water at hospital which helped a little and got some more pepermint oil tabs from doc once home.

Apparentlu common in c sections and cant believe it is due to WIND!!!

I've had it both times and it really is AWFUL! I was sobbing on Wednesday night and the more tense you get the worse the pain is. They used to do a windy cocktail made from peppermint cordial, Asilone and warm water and it really helps. This time I asked for it repeatedly but they kept saying they'd "bring it later". They never brought it because they were too busy. Moving around helps too.

It took a few days but it finally sent away. The doc just gave me a pill for gas and told me to move as much as possible.

Yep, it's gas! I never had it with DD but with DS in the hospital it struck me out of nowhere. It was really uncomfortable and I freaked out and called the nurse and she's like, "Oh, that's just gas! No big deal!" :haha:

I was given medicine and walked around more and that helped. :flower:

I had it but a week after. It went down my side too! I panicked and thought I was going to die as I thought it was a blood clot!
It wasnt
