So Wednesday the 27th march (40+3) started like any other day,got the children ready for school and playgroup. Nothing exciting happened really just pottered around the house. Dropped the boys off in mils after school as they go there every Wednesday for tea. Oh and I nipped into town to get Easter eggs. Had a heavy feeling and my belly was aching but thought nothing of it,my body ha been gearing up for labour but kept stopping for weeks.
Got home put the boys to bed and cooked tea. Started having painful Braxton hicks, started timing them but they were quite irregular again I didn't think anything of it as the Friday before I had regular Braxton hicks for 4 hours that just stopped. Bounced on my ball for a while and watched some tv with oh all whilst attempting to regulate the contractions. But nothing was working so decided to go up to bed.
Browsed a bit on bnb ;) then went to sleep around 12am. 12.30 I got woken up by a contraction that felt so much stronger than the other ones. I txt my oh (he was downstairs) saying I was definitely in labour,I just knew I was. He came up and I asked him to phone the hospital as I labour quite fast an contractions were coming every 2-3minutes and as we had planned a home birth we wanted to make sure the midwife got here in time.

We couldn't get hold of mil to have the boys so we had no choice but to leave them sleeping whilst I laboured and hope for the best. Contractions feeling really painful at this point and remember telling my oh That I couldn't wait for gas and air. The midwife arrived around 1am and told me that the gas and air was kept in the hospital which is literally round the corner from our house but she hadnt been to get it as she didn't want to go up 4 flights of stairs. I was gutted but had no choice to labour without it.
Midwife checked to see how dilated I was and as she did my waters broke all over the sofa, thankfully I had a bed pad down. And was told I was 6cm.
Around 2.10 am I felt the urge to push,9 minutes later our beautiful baby boy arrived into the world! Weighing 7lb 11oz
I had hoped to have delayed cord clamping but there was a true knot in the cord and the midwife wanted it cut straight away,so we did.
20 mins later after I had delivered the placenta and was giving only his first breastfeed our eldest woke so oh brought him down to meet his new baby brother. Midwives left not long after and we all went back to bed,I couldn't sleep too much had happened and I could stop staring at my beautiful newborn.

So there we go,I finally got my much wanted home birth without any pain relief and labour lasted 2hours and 4 mins.

Olly is 3days old and he's perfect,he's a pro at breastfeeding and were all absolutely smitten with him especially ds1 :)

Congratulations xx
I had Ethan at home with no pain relief as the midwife only just arrived 10 mins before he arrived!!
I had wanted the same again this time but think that because they came in loads of time and they brought it with them I used it - for about an hour x

A beautiful birth story, welcome to the world little Olly xx

Congratulations! Glad everything went well for you.

Thanks everyone I can't believe he's one week old tomorrow
