Nadia Renee Thompson joined the world today at 4:04 PM weighing 8lbs 4 oz and 20.5 inches long.
I was in predominal labor for a couple weeks and finally my doctor performed a sweep at 39+1 and after nearly 72 hours of nothing but inconsistent braxton hicks I came to terms that I'd end up needing to be induced on June 6th. Well at about 2:30 am last night my bf woke me from sleeping on the couch so I could crawl in bed, I used the restroom and remember some slimy but watery discharge and decided not to get my hopes up but secretly hoping I was leaking waters. I went to sleep and at approximately 3:30 am felt a snap in my uterus/cervix area and instantly a huge gush of warm water came rushing out, I jumped out of bed after wailing by the surprise of it all and screamed my water just broke! We decided to go to L&D right away since I was already 3+ cm dilated and contractions began right away. Once at the hospital after 3 hours of trying to cope with contractions that were making me want to scream I finally gave in and got the epidural which I don't regret. 9 hours after that it was time to attempt pushing (by then the epidural wore off enough where I could feel the pressure of contractions and my daughters head traveling through the canal, which I never expected to be so painful!) After one hour of me screaming and crying in pain my daughter was born..so beautiful and worth every second of pain! (I bet my screaming scared the woman next door whom I assume was in false labor because my baby was the only one born around that time) That's my labor story. If you ladies would like to see pictures ill update when we get home in 2 days.
