We are team yellow so having both names ready incase. We always agreed I would choose girls and he would choose boys like last time. Thing is, my husband is welsh so has picked Gethin, but we live in Scotland not wales! Lots of people have made faces when ive told them his choice and im worried about him (if its even a boy) would be picked on. What do you ladies think?

I think it's a good name. I don't think he'd be picked on. After all, most Celtic name share an origin or have similar names in other regions of the UK.

Ignore the people turning their noses up. Sometimes people do that because they don't want to show their ignorance if you mention a name they don't know.

I know plenty of boys with Scottish names near me and I don't live in Scotland. I also know a number with Welsh names and I don't live in Wakes either.

Don't let people put you off and make you feel obliged to choose a different name if you don't want to.

I'm in Scotland and I don't think there's any reason but to use it. Personally wouldn't be a name I'd choose but I don't see why not if you both like it!!

I'm south uk where Finley is spelt with an 'e' and we have a Finlay (which is normally used in Scotland) because we are part Scottish with a Scottish surname. I think do what feels right!
Tell you what though, all the flipping name keyrings/placemats/nicknaks around here spell Finlay wrong ;-)
