Taking baby to groups? Also what sort of groups did you go too?

Xx

I joined an NCT antenatal group when i was pregnant, we still meet up every Thursday morning. :)
I've been to a few bumps and babes and breastfeeding groups since LO was born. But it's not really my sort of thing. I have told my self that when the new term starts, I'll start going to more. :)
In the early week/months, your LO won't really know where they are, so the groups would only really benefit you. :)

I've been going to bumps to one and baby play since LO was 2 weeks old. He loves them and we've both made friends there.

Im generally not a very confident person, and coupled with the fact that I was BF, I didnt start taking DD1 to groups until she was 10 months old (by then she was on 3 BF during the day so could go out for longer periods, as I was totally not confident NIP). We started off going to our local mums and toddlers group, then progressed to Tumble tots and Musical monkeys, so 3 groups a week.
With DD2 she went to the same groups pretty much from birth as I didnt want DD1 to have to stop going, and I felt more confident second time round, as I know all the other parents. xxx

We started going to groups when Fran was 4 weeks old. I felt it was important to socialise from an early age so Fran got used to being around other people and children and now she's the most sociable little girl I've ever known!

We did baby massage when LO was 6 weeks old didn't really feel like going but if i didn't do it then id have to wait months to get enrolled again. I'm so glad i did go that then led on to postnatal support group for 6 weeks with babies the same age a health visitor and nurse were there to give advise and answer questions when that ended then that led on to a mother and baby group ive met some lovely mums and we still meet up every Thursday morning that have been to all the same groups

Mine were 7 weeks old and I made lovely friends at the local twins club. its my weekly highlight. :) x

We go to Breastmates, Bumps to walkers and Shake, rattle and roll (Mon, wed, fri).
LO was about 11 weeks when we first went, now its the highlight of my week, even if she does miss a few naps!

I totally agree with this, it really paid off for us recently when we went back to where I grew up. He was held by 15 people apart from me and OH over the course of a week and he didn't bat an eyelid, actually he loved the attention!

LO was about 6/7weeks! Started with baby massage which she loved!

I was planning on going soon (she's 3 weeks) but I'll probably wait until she's 6 weeks and had her jabs :).

Thank you everyone - hopefully she'll be more alert then and enjoy the classes.

Xx
