I know this is like asking how long a piece of string is but if you could let me know your experience of using a double buggy that would be great.

My son is 19 months old (got a baby due in 9 weeks) and although he gets annoyed at going in the pram at times, once he's in there he is pretty happy and let's face it, I can get to places quicker - particularly if it is raining.

I'm considering getting the mountain buggy duet but as it is around £500 I just wanted to know how much use I would get out of it?

Some people have said that I should just put baby in babybjorn, then use my Icandy and then switch when son big enough/old enough to use a buggyboard... BUT, I feel that surely I will need a double mostly??

Hmm decisions, decisions.... I'm just looking for any experience/help please.

Thanks.

I think maybe 500 onit is a bit steep as he will want to go init less an less as he gets older. Have u thought about the prams that turn into a single forgot what they r called.

Laila was 18 months when Romane was born and we used the double 10 times max, i've just sold it.

My eldest daughter was 20 months when i had my 2nd daughter and we brought a phil and teds second hand off ebay only used a handful of times for£290 was 6 months old at the time we brought it. We are still needing it now and my eldest daughter has just recently turned 3. She sometimes gets tired and is only to happy to get in the pushchair and my ohter baby girl is nearly 17 months and is still not yet walking so she knows no different. Depends how far you walk i suppose. I think life without a double pushchair for us would be alot harder. We live in the country and walk our dog on fields so its also good for that. Have a look on ebay you can find some good bargains. x

We used a double from when DS was 2years 2months. He is now 4years 2months and i still use it on occasion. Although i probably stopped using it on a daily basis when he was around 3years 8months.

It totally depends on how much walking you do etc. I walk quite a bit and DS slept quite a bit so a buggy board only worked up to a point. If i was out for more than a couple of hours i had to have the double. SO to me the double was worth it. I had a side by side and a Phil & Teds style double. The side by side was much better and we should of spent more on that and less on the other.

My daughter will be 3 soon and i still use is at least 2 times a week.

Max is 19 months and still relys on a buggy (he can walk far, he just would prefer me carrying him, and he's heavy!)

We very rarely have Imogen walk anywhere and she's 2 and a bit. We have a side by side and a tandem - buy second hand though. Doubles come up on ebay/gumtree/preloved second hand all the time and they're normally in great condition. I expect to be still using ours regularly in a year.

I would use one now if I still had one. especially in the bad weather.

We still use ours, Keira is happy to walk most of the time but if she gets tired she likes to be able to jump in with Connor, we have a buggy board for our quinny buzz and we take that instead sometimes and she is happy to go on that but she sometimes says she is cold or too tired to hold on
