Hi,

My daughter has always worn sleepsuits to bed. She is now 10 months old and I was about to buy the next size up and was wondering if they are practical now she is standing up?

But won't they get cold feet in pj's?

my son just turned 2 and still has a lot of onesies for bed but as he has got older e also have more two piece jammies set too. He never had much bother walking in them to be honest. when he is in jammies and its cold we put his slippers on and he is fine.

Around 10 mths I started putting LO in pyjamas. I love them, they are so much easier than sleep suits with all the press studs. She wont lie still long enough for me to do all the poppers up so its easier to put her in jammies where I can just pull them up quickly. She goes in a grow bag so her feet wont be cold.

We used pyjamas from about 11months. He was always in his sleeping bag at night and in the morning I was always undoing his sleepsuits to get feet out so they were free for him to practise taking steps.

My LO is 14 months and still wears sleepsuits sometimes if its cold. We have a few in 12-18 months which fit quite well with a bit of give x

still use onesies at 15 months, but have some pj sets if hes extra tired - as someone said he hates being fussed over while i try and get poppers in if he's tired! i always think a sleepsuit is more comfy to sleep in that the elastic band of pj bottoms around the waist! i'm sure he doesnt notice though! haha!

My LO has been in PJs or just vests since around 6/7 months. This was mainly cos it had been so hot, but now at 10 months she just seems happy in PJs - even tho she crawls out of the blankets her feet never get very cold.

Not sure what we'll do in the winter!!

He's just gone into his 12-18 onesies, I'll probably get 18-24 as well just because I think he looks cute in them :haha: he's fine standing up and cruising in them at the moment so should be ok walking, suppose it would be different if we had hard floors.

We have hard floor and they are a little big for her so the feet drag on the floor!

I'm just thinking of winter really.

We stopped just before LO was a year, we always use pjs now, but hes in a grow bag too. xxx

We bought up to 12-18 then just got pjs. When it's cold he'll wear socks to bed and he'll have slippers/a dressing gown for when he's awake.

My lo is 14 months and still in onesies, she walks in them fine, probably put her jammies in the next few months when she goes up a size

My lg is 10 months. I fully intend to have her in sleep suits over the coming Autumn and Winter as they are just more practical for keeping her warm at night. Will probably move away from them next summer when she wears just a vest for sleeping again like this year. I don't think there's any hurry. Also the ones I buy have non slip feet so fine for walking. To me she is still a baby, no need to hurry making her into a proper little girl ;)

I bought Thomas his first set of PJ's at 1, and he wore socks with them. Sophie's never slept in sleepsuits as they don't fit over her cloth nappy. She has pants and socks, or footed pants (which seem roomier).

my dd is 8 months and she wears sleepsuits day and night. daytime she has cute ones and nighttime just plain white. i love them. she looks so comfy. And my theory is they only get to wear them for 1-2 years. Then they have 80 odd years in outfits.

They're probably practical until you plan to potty train. Sure you might not expect them to be dry at first, but you want them to be able to have the opportunity to use the potty independently without a sleepsuit complicating things. As an ECing and bedsharing mom, I find regular PJ's better. When you EC, it's better to change diapers at night and sleep suits make that rather difficult.

Another thing about bedsharing is that if they share your blankets too, they can get too warm. Even when it was cold, I often dressed Violet in just a shirt or gown for bed. Now that she's more mobile, she doesn't share blankets with me all night long so I have to think more about pants than I did when we were having cold weather! She has a sleep suit she's used a couple times, but generally we don't use them anymore. I'm not sure whether or not we will use them more in the winter.
