between certified nurse-midwives and just midwives? I had my first two children with regular OBGYN's and I am considering a midwife this time but I am unsure if I want to go with the Greenville hospitals Midwifery program or a free standing birthing center.

Depends on where you live. In my state in the US the main differences is that CNMs generally work in the hospital under hospital policy and under a OB. So if the hospital or an OB says that they don't like the way a person's labor is going then the OB can take over. Non-CNMs here do the homebirths and are more natural minded rather than medical minded.
