Just wondering what the signs for weaning are? I was thinking of starting Erin on some baby rice to see how she goes. She watches me eat constantly and has started grabbing at my food, in fact she comes off the breast to watch me eat. She puts things in her mouth all the time and is constantly chewing, plus she now has 2 teeth. She's also started waking more at night lately. I know the "guidelines" say 6 months, but have read here that lots of people start before then...

do you think these are signs she is ready?

They could be signs that she is starting to want something else as in start weaning and they were the signs i used for my two when i started to wean them (i didnt use baby rice as its gross *imo* i used baby porridge) but bare in mind it could also be a growth spurt...you will know whens shes ready trust yourself

Able to sit alone with good head control
interest in food
loss of tongue-thrust reflex (if she pushes everything right back out, she isnt ready)

Star

- good head control
- eating more then 32oz
- waking in the night, or more often in the night after sleeping well

Eating more wasn't a sign for Savannah, she actually started eating less. But the waking through the night was def a sign.
