what benefits am i entitled to?

hi all.

Im on maternity leave and am getting mat pay from my work, my partner earns approx 29k per year, would i be entittled to the following


working tax creds? as im employed.
child tax creds?
child benefit i know im entittled to.

are we allowed to claim working tax cred and child tax credits, im not to sure how many diff creds there are.

Not a lot unfortunately. You'll get £20 per week Child Benefit which everyone gets, and we get £20 per week Child Tax Credit. We're not entitled to anything else. Hubby earns £22k a year and I earn £18k a year. I asked what the threshold was for being entitled to Working Tax Credits and apparently you have to have a joint income of.... wait for it... £15k a year!!

Give them a ring - they'll tell you what you're entitled to. It's easier than filling forms in on line and stuff.

Thats defo not right. Me and OH will get our nursery fees paid for and an extra £20 a week ontop of that when I return to work and we have a joint income of well over 15k.

Harry's nursery fees are £429 a month, and like I said - I earn £18k and hubby earns £22k and we've been told three times now that we're not entitled to anything other than £20 a week Child Benefit and £20 a week Child Tax Credit. I almost didn't bother filling in the re-assessment forms as I was told that I wouldn't get anything extra.
