As titled!

Im not looking to pump to get a supply straight away but with my daughter i had alot of milk and would pump sometimes to help with the pain. This time i want to freeze it if i can (need to look up the rules etc first, i.e adding pumped milk to milk pumped earlier etc)

Want some that wont leak and i can write on (guessing i will need to do this so it doesnt go off!)

Thank you :flower:

Thank you! I shop in tesco so will grab some, ive looked at them before but didnt want to get any incase they were rubbish!

Now for someone to give me a heads up on the rules of storage??

Can you add pumped milk to pumped milk (if that makes sense)?
How long can you store in the fridge, how long in the freezer?
How long can you keep when defrosted?
Do you freeze them flat? (like lay them in a container)
How should i defrost it and heat it up?

So many questions! I only just thought of these of the top of my head so if ive missed anything please let me know!

I just used small ziploc freezer bags .

You can add to previously pumped milk but they new to be the same temperature so keep in the fridge for a whole before you mix them

I wouldn't keep in the fridge for longer then a 2-3 dayss. The freezer its good for 6 months ideally

I always laid them flat and easier to store after .

To defrost it you can leave it in the fridge until it defrosts, and ten warm it by putting the bag in hot water . You can't microwave breast milk

I only pumped occasionally in the past but always used Lansinoh bags

I use boots ones and have always found them very good :)

When we are in the uk i use tescos brand. when in the us i use nuk brand. never had a problem with either. fresh milk ib fridge can be used up to three days frozen milk they say 3-6 months. i was told you can thaw milk in bag sittibg in bowl of boiled water if you need it faster than lettibg it thaw in fridge. and like pp said you have to have milk at same temp when combinibg so i keep all pumps for day in fridge then at night i bag them up in 3 oz each then lay flay to freeze for space. and i was told to only freeze in bags 3-4oz because of expansion but mainly bevause if you do more and thaw it and lo obly drinks 2.5oz then you have a lot more that you will need to throw out at end of feed. where as if lo is hungry you can thaw more and less chance of milk getting wasted. hope this helps.

Do you guys have Target there across the pond? If so, I've found the Target store brand to be fantastic. They are thicker and more durable than lansinoh and every other brand I've tried.

No there is no Targets over there. That is always the store i miss the most when living in the uk :)

Yeah I can't imagine living without Target. In Maryland there's one in basically every town and I'm there probably twice a week! :haha:
