I know a new law (2011) allows breastfeeding supplies to be tax deductible but what does that include?

I already have a pump so it is too late for that, but what about things like breastpads, nursing bras, breastmilk storage bags etc?

I have tried looking online but haven't found anything.

Thanks!

I have nothing helpful to add but I've never heard of that! That would be a nice tax break. I'm interested to see if anyone else has any insight.

I just did a little Googling. It looks like you can claim breast pumps and accessories on your Flex Spending Account with your pre-tax dollars. If you don't have an FSA you can claim the supplies on your taxes, but only if it exceeds 7.5% of your income (bummer).

It looks like you can get a tax break on anything breast feeding related as the IRS states on their website for items that qualify:

"Breast Pumps and Supplies

You can include in medical expenses the cost of breast pumps and supplies that assist lactation."
