My baby will be starting his swimming lessons this Wednesday morning 😃, but of course moms go in the water too. My question is - what do other moms wear?? It just crossed my mind that it might be inappropriate for me to wear a bikini...?? I don't own a one peice, and buying one would take a full day trip to the city (since now it's too late to even order one). Do other moms wear 2 pieces to swim class?

I swim a lot and see a lot of parent and tot classes going on. I'd say about half the moms wear bikinis. My daughter has her first class tomorrow and I plan to wear a one piece, mostly because I'm a bit self conscious of my post baby belly!

Oh awesome thank you! I'm a bit self conscious too, but hopefully everyone is focused on their babies and not judging :) I just wanted to make sure it wasn't bad etiquette. Thanks for the reply!

Wear whatever you feel comfortable in :) ive seen ladies in bikinis, workout gear, one piece. I didn't feel as self conscious as I thought I'd feel when I took my eldest swimming, you are so focused on your baby and everyone else is the same :) one thing I'll add - the class we did there was a lot of moving up and down so I wouldn't have been comfy with my boobs jumping about in a bikini - I had a one piece with good boob support hehe

We have to wear rashies with our swim school so the baby has something to grab hold of. Took me awhile to get used to a rashie (and I still think they feel quite gross on lol) but it is really good for Bub to grab in the water.

I would wear a one piece. Especially if you are still breastfeeding. I still am so I am rather large up top. I don't think a bikini would have stayed in place with all the moving around. I wore a tankini which is regular bikini bottom with a loose bathing suit tank top. Infant swim is fun!

You could always wear a fitted t shirt over your bikini so bub has something to grab onto and your boobs won't fall out, given you won't have time to buy a rashy

I wore a bikini to DS's class for the same reason--didn't have a one piece. I wasn't uncomfortable and don't remember what other moms wore. DS was 18 months though, so my body had recovered quite a bit.

Thanks for all the replies! At least now I don't feel like I need to rush out and try and find a 1 peice. I really like the idea of wearing a rashy! I didn't think of wearing one at an indoor pool but I have a pile of them. Thanks for the idea!!
