This question is for bottle and BFing Mums!!

When your baby is sick - and I mean proper sick! - what do you do about feeding them again???

Hebe has been feeding all afternoon (BF) and so after she'd drained me dry and my nips had had enough, I thought I'd top her up with the 1oz of milk I'd managed to pump (it took friggin' ages too :hissy: )at lunch time. She slurped it down in double quick time (I think this was the problem) and then nodded off. After about 5mins she started to gag and I knew she was gonna be sick so I got the muslin ready and she let rip!!! Down her nostrils and everything :( Poor mite was  . I got her cleaned up, bathed etc and she's snuffling around again like she's hungry and I dont know if I should wait for her tummy to settle or what???

She was sick last night after being topped up and I think its the speed at which she takes it through a bottle.

Any advice greatfully received :)

I'd breastfeed her if she wants.

There are properties in BM that helps settle sour tummies. And she'll need the hydration if she was sick.

Thanks girls. :hugs: Poor little sausage :( She's fallen asleep now. I actually really want to feed her just to cuddle her. Her eyes when she was being sick were pleading with me to help her :(

Spoke too soon - she's just woke up....booby time.:happydance:

Oliver has been like this today. His is because he is a snuffly baby though. We had the in-laws to stay and it really disrupted him, so he cried a lot. He isn't a cryey baby. So then every time he fed, he got really mucosy and then threw up. ABout 3 rounds of BF and vomiting later, he settled. I found it really traumatic, but we got there eventually!!!

It is traumatic isnt it Kat. I remember the first time Emily puked like that - I was almost hysterical.

If she is vomiting loads after every feed then you need to feed little and often. Amelia had a sickness bug a couple weeks ago, fortunately it only lasted 24hours.

Scary though seeing them in such discomfort.

Hope Hebe feels better soon.
