Hi all! Looking for a little advice please! We have been making formrla up as it instructs on the tin - what a faff!! So after a reading a few posts on here I've seen how many of you make up formula and keep it in the fridge until needed. So yesterday we started doing that too - soooo much easier. But what do all you girls do when out and about? We had been taking out a flask of boiled water, an empty sterlised bottle and measured out powder so we can make up fresh, but then you have to wait for it to cool. What do you all do? Thanks! xxx

I make up 6 bottles every morning. Boiling water add the power, quick cool in cold water then put in fridge. I take out however many bottles I need for the day in a thermo bag with an ice pack ( so they stay cold) then ive got a tommee tippee travel warmer which i take out to heat bottles up :) easy!

If I'm heading out for the day I just take a couple of steralised bottles and the pre-made sma cartons, and hey presto, instant feed! xxx

we have a bottle hot/cold bag. I put the bottle with boiling hot water in the bag.By the time she feeds normally 2-3 hours later the water has cooled and it just warm enough. Got mine from asda. Holds 2 bottles. I then add the formula that i normally measure into a pot. I did think of using the ready made cartons and taking a sterlised bottle but in the summer i didnt fancy leaving cartons out to get hot so would need to take something with me to keep cartoons from getting hot and they are more expensive.

I hadn't thought of this! Must invest in a cooler bag or something similar

Thanks all. I would opt for buying ready made cartons, but Charlie is on nutriprem 2 - prescription only for low birth weight and prem babies. I doubt very much that the nhs will prescribe me the ready made stuff as it's bound to be more expensive - I might ask though. It can't hurt! If you don't ask you don't get right?!

Didn't realise that you can buy travel bottle warmers! Might have to invest in one! x

I keep warm water in the flask (around 40 oc) & I use a despenser. If we'r going out for few hrs (3-4) I prepare a feed at home, & give it to him within 2 hrs. I also prepare frsh feeds.

that's exactly what I do too

same here!

It's also useful to know if you're out shopping that Debenhams usually have a baby food preparation area, so you can warm, cool and microwave things yourself. It's so much easier than anywhere else I've found!

I just take water and the powder in the tommee tippee dispensers - I have insulated bottle holders in my nappy bag that maintain the temperature. I use the ready made too if its not too warm a day - Ihave always fed at room temperature so I dont have to worry aout warming it.

i have a tommeee tippee flask - and i always use cartons - much easier, but tbh i have never had a problem with a carton getting too warm in the summer, if its in a bag and not out in direct sunlight it should be fine

I use ready made too when we go out. My LO doesn't always drink it at room temperature so we have a TT bottle warmer.
