I had a DNC to remove polyps 4 months ago. Upon follow up care they think they have found more polyps. So they were either missed or have grown back already. I was also treated for an infection in my endometrium, endometritis. My periods have totally changed.

Do you know of people that got pregnant and gave birth with polyps? I have no faith that surgery will be successful since it wasn't last time and the more D&C's you have the worse the scar tissue. Should I try with the polyps anyway?

I just had a polyp removed a couple weeks ago. I was told that a D & C alone would not permanently remove the polyp, that you also needed to have an operative hysteroscopy to essentially scrape away the polyp to the root. This is because the curette in a D & C often just pushes down the polyp, or just takes the top off and then it grows back. D & Cs are done blindly so they can't see if they've actually removed the polyp.

This site explains it pretty well: https://www.obgyn.net/laparoscopy/endometrial-polyps

In terms of pregnancy, my RE basically said that there is no conclusive evidence that polyps cause miscarriages. Some studies show they do, some don't. She also said they are probably a lot more common than people think, but that most people don't know they have them if they are asymptomatic. So many people have babies with polyps, but then they're also found in a lot of infertility cases and repeated loss. In my case she wanted me to get it removed because it could cause problems later on and she wants to be as proactive as possible as we move forward.

My cycle is completely screwed up right now, it's unbelievable. But that's another story.
