Weekly food shopping?? We're not strictly on a budget but we obviously want to cut down as much as we can iwth a new arrival on the way

I need to include formula and nappies in this. What's everyones weekly food shop bill??

xx

Shopping at ASDA, I can do a weekly shop for around £30 - £35 including nappies. I get formula from Dr's on prescription, so not paying for it :D

I just buy all own brand stuff, dont bother with special offers (they are usually a rip off tbh) and buy things like bread, meat, fish daily when they go into the reduced bit....Ive gotten very good at saving and budgeting since LO arrived!! :flower:

WOW!!!!!! That is actually amazing!!!!!! I really need to learn to cut back on spending, I'm terrible! How many people is that to feed?? I have 2 adults and 2 children xx

Just me and my partner mostly, but I do have my friend over for dinner every Saturday :)

Easy way to cut down on food spending, is set a budget for your shopping. Get to know the rough prices at your local supermarket. Make a list before you leave, only take the amount of money you wish to spend with you, + maybe a £5 extra just in case. And, alot of people buy waaay to much food, and then it gets wasted. :winkwink:

how do you get formula on prescription? if you dont mind me asking?

My LO is a preemie and is on Nutriprem 2. You cant buy it in the shops, so I get it from the doc's.

2 adults and 1 toddler - £40 per week - thats not including nappies or formula.....so I would say £55 including nappies/formula:flower:

we are quite good, £40 per week on food (sometimes less) - we shop at aldi, £10 per week on our 3 cats - litter, food etc. and £10 every two weeks on nappies from asda. I have started buying smartprice baby wipes, discovered that they are absolubtly fine and dont irritate georges skin at all. and for about 37p a packet very good value!

OMG I need to budget too!
I spend about £100 a week on food, I'm now trying to make this include petrol as I don't need to use the car as much.
I keep saying I'll budget but just buying laundry products, cleaning products, hygiene products and baby stuff soon bumps the cost up. And packed lunches are extortionate.
£30 a week seems nigh impossible, although we are a family of 6!

I agree hun! Our budget at the minute is around £100 a week but I really need to get it down. Seems impossible tho :nope:

We spend about £50 a week at the moment just on two adults so I imagine when little ones comes we'll be spending about £65-£70 to include nappies and formula - I'm sure we could cut that back if we planned meals properly x

think i need to start bugeting too lol coz my shopping averagely comes to about 100 pounds a week and that is including nappies wipes formula and dog food for three dogs lol x we are a family of five x 2 adults 3 kids one of which eats like a horse and a dh who has just been diagnosed with diabeties so having to shop around him now too x

I spend about £200 a week, then another £10-£20 every other day on bread/milk etc for 2 adults, 4 kids and a doggy

We spend £80-£100 every fortnight so approx £50 per week for me hubby & our dog. Tbh we could v.likely cut this down and I will make this one of my goals while on maternity leave!! :D I am a bit rubbish at cooking from scratch and hubby doesnt eat certain things whereas I am a human dustbin. Lol. We also buy quite a bit of branded which tbh if needs be we could change. We shop at Farmfoods (can get LOTS there for good prices) and then get a few things from Asda. Thats also inc. taxi/delivery cost as we dont drive.

xx

We usually spend £100 per week and there is only 2 adults, 1 toddler and a small dog. We usually shop at Tesco. I try to cut down on spending but fresh meat and fish seems to cost so much these days.

2 adults and 1 toddler, our budget is £60 per week but that doesn't include nappies (and he's too old for formula now).So if we did have to pay for that i'd say our budget was around £80 per week, and i find it hard to stick to!
