I picked this girl's name awhile ago and my DH likes it but I feel like I should have other options, but I always seem to come back to this name so I want to see what people will think of it

Allegra Rose

Our surname is very Italian and Allegra means "happy or joyful" in Italian and Rose is after my DH's grandmother who passed away.

I think it is pretty and will suit your surname:flower: I like Allie for a nickname.

I do like it, really, but here is my only issue:

Allegra (Fexofenadine) is used to relieve the allergy symptoms of seasonal allergic
rhinitis ('hay fever'), including runny nose; sneezing; red, itchy, or watery
eyes; or itching of the nose, throat, or roof of the mouth in adults and
children 2 years of age and older.

It is the first thing that pops into my head. It is an allergy drug....

Sorry, not trying to be a downer. :(

I did think of the allergy medicine too, that's probably my only concern. But I have heard this used as a name a few times too...in fact in the movie "Hitch" the girls name is Allegra Cole...don't know why I've always remembered that :)

It's a very pretty name! Love that it's Italian!

The allergy medication does come to mind tho

It didn't make me think of allergy medication....think it's a lovely name

Allegra Rose is also on my list! I HATE when people talk about the stupid medicine - it's been a very lovely name much longer than a crappy company came and took it. I loved it from the poet Byron, who writes about Allegra. (true, it's a weird twisted relationship he had, but it still made me love the name). I've loved it ever since I was a little girl, yet now whenever I say I love the name, people also say "Oh ew, it's an allergy medicine," like I got it off of the medicine company instead of it being an old Italian name.

I have it as a middle name now on my list, but I'm not too satisfied with it. I may just use it as a first name yet! I just don't want my little girl to grow up being teased about being named after the allergy medicine.

It's beautiful! Allegra is one of my fav names for a girl. I always think of music, not medicine.

Very beautiful! I love the meaning and also the musical association. Too bad about the allergy med, but I say go for it anyway! People will soon get used to it and associate the name with your daughter, not a med. Plus it will go with your last name.

Thanks ladies! I think my DH is set on this one...he doesn't like any other girl names! I also shared my name choices with my sister and she likes Allegra the best.

Now watch it will probably be a boy :)
