Hiya.

I've just done 3 cycles of clomid; one at 50mg and two at 100mg. Despite this my ovaries have dug their heels in and refused to produce an egg. I have PCOS and my husband has poor morphology.

I'm not due back to the hospital until the first week in September, and was wondering if any of you know what might be the next course of treatment?

Thanks.

xx

hi i also have pcos and tried clomid upto 150mg with no ovulation
i was then referred for lap and ovarian drilling, which i had done two weeks ago, hoping that this may kick start my lazy ovaries :dohh:

fx it will work now, also look into the herbal meds as there are a few on here who swear by them, i have just started a few so still waiting to see if they work but i figure there is nothing to loose :winkwink:

hope you find the answers you need x

If Clomid doesn't work, they can try this other drug called Femara. If that doesn't work they can try you on injectible medications or ovarian drilling like bumski.

The one question I think everyone should ask at their doctor appointments are 'what is our next step if this doesn't work'. The doctors always start out optimistic and very one-step-at-a-time... but there is nothing worse than having the plan fail and then deal with the anxiety about what options you have left!

Good luck.
I managed to ovulate on clomid (4x at 50mg) but my progesterone wasn't getting high enough... about to start another round at 100mg and if that doesn't get my progesterone up, I'll have to move to injectibles.

I didn't ovulate on 50mg, 100mg or 150mg...follicles didn't develop so doc reckons my body was resistant to Clomid. I had a lap in May and started an FSH injectable cycle at the beginning of June. Got pregnant but sadly my bean wasn't a sticky one. I'm waiting to start my next Gonal-F cycle when AF comes.

I didn't ovulate on 50 mg of clomid, starting 100 mg this cycle and going in for a scan before bloodwork so they can see if follicles are developing (I'm guessing this is why they want to do scan this time).

I am hoping the 100 mg will do the trick. I don't know what my next step will be. The term "ovarian drilling" just makes me hurt. It sounds horrible, and I'm sure it's nowhere near what I'm thinking, but it sounds like some mid-evil form of torture and makes me physically hurt when I hear it..... so I'm hoping I don't have to do that.
